Ugh, getting sick is NOT fun. And trying to go about your day while dealing with a scratchy, painful sore throat that makes it hard to talk, eat, and swallow can seem impossible. When I find myself on the sick list, here are the 3 ways I fight a sore throat.
Sleep
Growing up, whenever I got sick, my dad always told me it was because I wasn’t getting enough rest. While I know this isn’t always true, his words have stuck with me and made a lasting impact. Whenever I find myself sick I stop, drop, and rest. I believe in the power of sleep and think it’s essential when you’re feeling under the weather.
Chloraseptic
For my waking hours, I’m all about Chloraseptic. This stuff is seriously amazing. It’s funny that the bottle is now advertising a new and improved taste because I’ve always loved it and thought it tasted way better than medication should. It’s the #1 pharmacist recommended brand for sore throat liquid spray. I love that it soothes the back of my throat and offers instant relief. It’s what I turn to when my throat is feeling its worst.
Tea
When you’re under the weather, getting enough liquids to keep from dehydrating is really important. I’m a fan of hot tea for it’s relaxation properties and soothing warmth on my throat. I cuddle up in bed and drink a cup of nighttime tea to calm my throat and help me rest.
And at the end of the day if you’re still feeling crummy, kitty cuddles are a magical thing. 😀
Questions of the Day: How do you fight a sore throat? Are you a fan of Chloraseptic? Do you use a sleep mask when you sleep?

I never ever ever get sick, and I truly believe it is thanks to QUERCETIN and VITAMIN D. That being said – I didn’t take either for a month because I was traveling and ALAS… I GOT SICK (I am sick right now, ugh)……. I was also around a TON of sick people, so I am impressed I am only NOW just getting sick! ha! I have been loading up on my V-D & Quercetin though! And I will be good to go in no time!
Erin says
Ohh now I’m curious! What’s quercetin?
GiGi Eats says
A miracle worker!!!! It’s a natural anti-histamine found in onions and apples…. SOOOOOO recommended!

A few weeks back I wrote a blog about hot healing drinks for the cold winter months. I had no idea there were so many options. Ultimately I know from experience, rest, tea & honey and everything else is extra helpful.

What a cute eye mask and such a gorgeous kitty! I love using Chloraseptic for a sore throat too, but I’m partial to the green mint one. Be sure and add lots of honey to your tea too when sick.
