I don’t know about where you live but it has been downright frigid here lately. I want to get out and stay active but it is so hard when I go outside and feel like I’m dying a little inside as I do. Too dramatic? I know Omaha is much warmer than say, Minnesota, but I am not a cold weather gal. I’m pretty sure I should live on a beach all year round. Since that’s not happening anytime soon (realistically….ever) I’ve come to love layers. Warm, toasty layers.
Winter Wandering Outfit
Puffer Coat: J.Crew
Alpaca Headband: Amazon (similar) <— the warmest, cutest, best headbands
Smart Gloves: Loft
Tights: Lorna Jane
Socks: Swiftwick
Shoes: c/o Ahnu
When Josh and I went on an outdoor walk this past weekend I took my new Ahnu Sugarpine Waterproof Boots out for a spin.
Business in the front. Check out that padding. My feet were nice and warm.
Business in the back. Hello traction! Ahnu’s are made with Vibram technology that allows them to offer major grip and be slip-resistant.
Party from the side! Tell me these aren’t some of the cutest hiking shoes you’ve ever seen?
It may be a while before the weather is nice enough to hike Fontanelle Forest with these bad boys, but in the meantime I’m doing hiking of the concrete jungle variety. Weekend walks and work commutes call for something extra in the winter. These Ahnu boots fit the bill.
Questions of the Day: Are you a cold weather fan? Have you ever tried Ahnu Footwear? What are your favorite pieces to bundle up in?

Cute coat! I need to get a new headband/hat for winter, but I’m not sure what to get. I’m allergic to pretty muh anything made with animal fibers – boo
Erin says
Oh bummer about being allergic to animal fibers. Thankfully there’s lots of cute synthetic options!

Love the winter! It’s fantastic for outdoor adventures because so many people stay inside 🙂 But, you’re right– you just have to dress for it! Cute shoes!

I’m the weirdo that loves cold weather. Only if I’m properly dressed for it though! I think a big puffy down like coat is a cold weather essential.
Erin says
I love my big puffy down coat! Cold weather not so much! 😉

The temps have definitely taken a dive in KC this past week- I’m not ready for winter, but I need to buck up because it’s most definitely coming!

I hear ya girl! “cold” is a relative. I lived 10 years in Minnesota and North Dakota and it was cold there. Now I liv in Atlanta and it feels cold here. You have every right to feel cold because frankly…..it’s cold out! Very cute puffer coat too! Thanks for joining Celebrate Southern and sharing this with us! xoxo
