This weekend was such a good one that went by way too fast. I feel like I say that every weekend, but it’s always true. Weekends should be longer than two days, right? Here’s how I spent mine:
Avocado-rrific!
Friday after work was a mad dash to get our place ready for the party that night. This is my wonderful husband hanging decorations from the ceiling. I’ll be recapping my 24th birthday party in full detail this week.
For now I’ll leave you with this picture. Josh fell into a deep sleep while I was brushing my teeth after the party. I had to wake him up and tell him he needed to actually get under the covers.
Energy for Life Walk
Saturday we woke up bright and early to meet up with our friend Molly and her wonderful family for the Energy for Life Walk. This past year Molly’s cousin lost her baby to Mitochondrial Disease. She organized the walk to raise awareness about the disease and funds for a cure. I really hope one is found soon.
We all worked up an appetite during the walk. Afterwards we went to WheatFields for brunch. It was delicious, and I got to eat more of my favorite creme brulee potatoes.
Moving Party
That night a group of us got together at Molly and Brians for their last townhouse party. They just bought a new house and are moving at the end of this month.
There was so much good food. I pretty much dominated that corn dip. And Brian made the best strawberry margaritas.
Dessert was cookies from Wheatfields while watching Mean Girls on Netflix. (The guys were off at the bar watching the game by this point. Sidenote: Yay Huskers!) It was a really fun night that ended with a late night trip to Taco Bell with our friend Erin.
Omaha Bloggers Meetup
Sunday was supposed to be spent in Nebraska City at the AppleJack Festival. But since we slept in very late and were not feeling the best when we woke up, we decided to skip that and have a lazy day. After lounging around and resting for a while I went to a Zumba class to sweat out some of the booze. I came home afterwards to freshen up before heading over to Wilson and Washburn for an Omaha Bloggers meetup.
It was a meet and eat kind of event. I got the chicken spinach salad and roasted tomato soup. They were both delicious!
(Thanks to Dana for the picture!)
I always look forward to getting to hang out with these ladies. Omaha Bloggers have so much talent and knowledge. I feel so lucky to be apart of such a great group!
Questions of the Day: What was the highlight of your weekend? Is there a blogging group in your area? What’s it like? Did your football team win this weekend?
