Happy Monday everyone! I’m taking the day off to spend it with my dad who’s visiting from Pennsylvania. It has been such a fun weekend and I love that it’s not over yet! Here’s what we’ve been up to this weekend. Don’t forget to link up to your weekend recap at the end of this post!
Saturday Josh had a bunch of students graduating. After graduation was done I picked him up and we went to get Mediterranean for dinner. We tried a new-to-us restaurant called Mediterranean Bistro. It was delicious and this appetizer plate is what dreams are made of.
I got chicken kabobs for my main meal.
And split Turkish coffee with Josh for dessert. My dad’s flight kept on getting delayed so he didn’t get into Omaha until nearly midnight. Thankfully he got bumped to first class for his trouble so he enjoyed the flight.
We all slept in on Sunday and then went to Dugger’s Cafe for breakfast. It was delicious and a place Josh and I need to go to more often.
After breakfast we drove to Nebraska City to spend a beautiful spring day out in nature. I’ve always wanted to go on the Tree Adventure at Arbor Day Farm. I was so excited to get to do this with my dad and Josh.
The Tree Adventure is incredible. If you’re in Nebraska City I highly recommend checking it out. It feels so good to be surrounded by greenery, hear the birds chirping, and feel the sun on your face.
My dad and I! I wish we didn’t live so far away from each other.
Josh and I in a candid moment. 😀
After the Tree Adventure we went and explored Arbor Day Lodge. It’s called the White House of the prairie.
We had lunch at Lied Lodge. I love that you can sit outside and overlook the forests.
Once we got home we all took naps before ordering pizza and watching Before We Go. If you’re looking for a movie to watch that’s charming but different I highly recommend it.

That Mediterranean meal looks fantastic!! I also loved the little wooded area in Nebraska. I’ve never thought of taking the kids there but looks like an excellent place to hike!

The food and the views look amazing. What wonderful time spent with your dad! I also am from Pennsylvania (the Lehigh Valley area) but have been transplanted to Northern New York!
