Was anyone else a total bookworm growing up? The library was my favorite place to spend time and I often found myself curled up with a book in the children’s section getting lost in a fictional world. I’ve always been a dreamer and longed for a grand adventure and an epic romance. Adult me feels like I have found the real world version of these things in my life, but I still love to find myself transported to another place via the power of words. I love discovering new books that give me that same rush as I turn the pages.
When I was little The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C.S.Lewis was one of my favorite stories. As I got older and I re-read the book I gained an entirely new perspective and appreciation for the story. When I found out The Rose Theater was putting on an adaption of the book called Narnia for the Christmas season I got really excited. The Rose Theater is just a block away from me and such a beautiful theater. It’s a non-profit children’s theater that believes in enriching people’s lives through the arts. As a former orchestra and dance kid, I really appreciate this.
Josh and I were invited to attend their media preview before they opened to the public. Our local new station is a sponsor of the play and had a green screen set up for guests to take special pictures.
Josh and I were transported to Narnia! I love this so much.
After getting our pictures I met up with Joanna. Her and her husband were also making Narnia a date night!
While we waited for the show to begin I took in the beauty of the theater. On the inside it reminded me of an Epcot World Showcase destination, I feel like I was transported to another time.
The set was beautiful! I love how they used lights and unique props to completely change the look and feel of the stage.
It was such a fun performance. The children were adorable, the costumes were fantastic, and the storyline sucked me in. It was a play filled with singing, dancing, and acting. My favorite performers were the witch and the beavers. The witch had me scared and the beavers had me laughing. This show is the perfect show to see around Christmas, especially with family. It leaves you with such a good feeling.
Narnia runs from December 6-29th at the Rose Theater. Ticket information can be found here.
We had an amazing time. A huge thanks to The Rose Theater for inviting us to this performance. I can’t wait to see many more wonderful shows on their stage in the future!
Questions of the Day: What are some of your favorite childhood stories? Have you seen any of them on stage?

I was also a book worm but didn’t know about Narnia till I was an adult ( I guess I was just into a different genre of fiction). There will be a live showing of Narnia playing in our town too and I get to go report on the event. I’m very excited but nervous about taking pictures cause I know it will be dark!
