Hey guys! I hope you’re having a good start to your weekend! This post was supposed to go up on Friday, but in the middle of writing this on Thursday night I suddenly woke up and it was 5am. I was taking that as a sign I needed some sleep! ;p At long last I finally have my latest edition of Veggie Reviewed. I hope you enjoy it, there’s some good deals in here for you guys!
I am a sucker for cute matching workout gear. At the Runner’s World event this past fall I got to meet the awesome ladies behind Running Skirts. Not only do they make adorable running skirts (with hidden shorts underneath) they also make pants, tops, and headbands. They were so sweet to send me some of their outfits to test out. Now that I’ve gotten a chance to test them out I wanted to share my opinions with you. First off: the skirt. I never thought I would like running in skirts (I’m a capris or tights kind of girl) but with the hidden shorts underneath I have all the support I need and have the bonus of getting to wear something cute and girly while I run! As for the the top, I love how it is warm for winter workouts and (unpictured) has an elastic band at the waist. It’s also super soft and comfy.
The shirt also has thumb holes. I love thumb holes.
And the best part for winter workouts: the sleeves turn into mitts! I’ve always wanted a shirt that does that.
I love that the headband matches the whole outfit. It also stays in place during workouts which is so important. If you’d like to try out Running Skirts apparel and accessories the company was so sweet to give me a 15% off discount code for you. Simply enter veggieskirt into the coupon code area at checkout.
I’m a huge fan of workout DVDs. It’s really easy for me to get in a lazy mood and not want to leave my home for a workout. Workout DVDs are convenient and a great way to try out new exercises you may be worried about embarrassing yourself learning in a public setting. Or is that just me? Madonna recently released a set of workout DVDs called Addicted to Sweat . There are four DVDs and they are all dance workouts. While I love to dance these were not really my thing. I felt like the dances moved too fast, I was spending more of my time worrying about remembering the moves than I was about making sure I got in a good workout. If you love to dance and are quick at picking up routines this would probably be right up your alley.
Do you love fresh produce? How about some fresh Florida oranges? (A sidenote but does anyone else think fresh squeezed orange juice tastes a million times better than the kind you get at the store? There’s no comparison for me.) Parkesdale is a company that offers local Florida produce to the entire country. They sent me a case of goodies that my family and I enjoyed eating over the holidays. They were also so kind to send me a 25% off coupon for any of their fruit to share with you. Simply use the code 66q4vm8n at checkout.
I remember going to see Phantom of the Opera with my French class in 9th grade. I was in love with the story and the music and the costumes. Emmy Rossum was amazing in her part, she truly has the voice of an angel. I remember wishing after I saw her in the movie that she would make it big in pop music. This is why I was so excited to get to review her new CD, Sentimental Journey. Her voice is amazing as ever but most of the songs were not my cup of tea. They were a little too jazzy for me. I did love some of her new renditions of old classics, especially I’m Looking Over A Four Leaf Clover and Pretty Paper. I just wish she would sing some younger and more upbeat pop songs.
My last review is of an awesome workout pouch from Active Accessories. The owner of the company is Karen, an athlete who makes products she herself wants to use. I love how this on-the-go pouch is small and compact and cute.
The bright blue on the inside is such a fun surprise! And all the pockets are perfect for stashing cards and keys while at the gym. I use it for stashing my school ID to get into my school gym, a hair tie, and my car key. This is a great example of form meeting fashion.
Question of the Day: What’s a product you’re loving lately?

Totally agree with you about the dance DVDs. It was way too fast paced for me; even on the instructional intro DVD!
I’m more of a Capri and tights gal, too, but maybe one day I’ll give a skirt a try 😉
I looooves my Polar FT7 to track my workouts!

I’ve heard so many great things about Polar! I’ll have to check that out! The transition to skirts was not bad at all! I thought it would be uncomfortable to run in skirts but it felt really nice! I’m so glad it wasn’t just me that didn’t love the DVDs. I really wanted to but I couldn’t get into them.

I love that outfit! Shirts that can double as mittens are the best in cold weather. I force my long sleeve shirts to do that anyway, it works much better when that’s what they are designed for. 🙂

Aw thanks girly! I love cute matching workout outfits! 😀 Built-in mittens really are awesome for workouts in the winter.
