I was on puppy duty today.
My dad and Diane went on a li
ttle day vacation to Bethlehem, PA so I got to snuggle up and spend extra quality time with Bailey and Andy. After a leisurely morning breakfast burrito and wiling away the rainy early afternoon watching Big Bang Theory episodes I started to find myself getting tired. With the days so short now and darkness coming so early I find myself getting tired way earlier than I normally do. Instead of taking a nap I decided to kick up my energy levels with a workout.
I put in the 10 Minute Solution Fat Blasting Dance Mix and did the 50 minute routine. I was grooving to the music and by the time it was over I was sweaty and feeling energetic again. Its amazing how a workout can revitalize you and put a pep back in your step.
I munched on a spinach and chickpea salad afterward with shredded cheddar cheese, onions, and lemon vinaigrette. I spent the rest of the afternoon lazing around listening to Christmas music and catching up on some of my favorite blogs. When dinner time rolled around I was really indecisive about what I wanted so I munched on tortilla chips and guacamole while I decided.
It was cold and rainy today and after taking my puppies outside I decided warm old fashioned oats with Greek yogurt, bananas, and honey would be perfect. I ate this while watching more Big Bang Theory episodes and talking to Josh on the phone. I get to see him in Connecticut in six days! 😀
And now I think I’m going to take a cue from these lazy little love bugs and catch up on some sleep. I work tomorrow so I want to make sure I’m well rested for my late hours. I work 5:45 to 12:15am! Gotta love Holiday retail!
Question of the Day: Do you find the shorter, darker days of winter make you lazier and sleepier than usual? What do you do to fight the fatigue and pick up your energy levels?

I find that I am less likely to want to go out in the evening when it gets dark so early. In the summer, I have no problem running out to the drug store or somewhere random at 8:00, but at this time of year, the odds are slim that I’d want to do that.
