I hope everyone has had a great Saint Patrick’s Day! Josh and I are spending the weekend in Williamsport. After a really fun day yesterday we’re having a quiet work day today. I’ll make a post of our St. Patricks Day shenanigans on Tuesday but first I wanted to post my last Spring Break update. I hope you enjoy it!
We decided to wake up bright and early one morning to head to New York to the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets. This outlet was one of the biggest I had ever been to! There was a Lululemon! Its the second one I’ve been to in a month. We had fun browsing a lot of things but I didn’t find any super awesome sales. Debbie was talking to a sales manager and she mentioned how rent had been going up there and customer volume was decreasing. I left without purchasing anything but I had a really fun time!
After a long morning of shopping we went to Au Bon Pain for lunch. I got a lettuce, tomatoe, and mozzarella sandwich and it was so good.
As was the broccoli cheddar soup. I love broccoli and cheddar combos!
We spent the rest of the afternoon browsing more shops and trying unsuccessefully to find suit pants for me that aren’t too tight in my thigh without being big in the waist and lower leg area. If you guys have any brand recommendations I’m all ears!
We left the outlets around dinner time and were getting pretty hungry. We didn’t know a lot of places in the area and didn’t want to wait until we got back to New Haven since that would mean eating dinner at like 9pm. After deciding to get off a random exit on the highway we spotted a diner we thought would be cool to try.
We really lucked out. We happened to stumble upon the Eveready Diner, a place that has been featured on Diners and Drives! The place was packed with a wait to get seated and the food going by looked amazing.
This was the nicest diner I have ever been to! It was so hard deciding what to get because everything on the menu looked amazing.
There was such attention to detail in every nook and cranny of this place.
I got a salad to start off the meal with homemade tomato vinaigrette. This was one of the best vinaigrettes I’ve ever had! It was so tasty without being heavy and super oily. It tasted fresh and had big chunks of veggies in it!
For my entree I got pasta with broccoli, sundried tomatoes, garlic and parmesan cooked in olive oil. It was so delicious and I was so hungry I ate until I was stuffed!
The next day we woke up bright and early again to head to Niantic, CT to visit a place I have heard Josh and his parents mention often. The Book Barn is unlike any bookstore I’ve ever been to.
Its a big plot of land with tons and tons of barns and houses filled with different genres of books.
They also have goats! They were enjoying the pretty sunshine. 😀
And tons of carts stuffed with books. I could spend days in a place like this. It also doesn’t hurt that they have free coffee, hot chocolate, donuts, and crackers!
For lunch we decided to try out a place along the water called Main Street Grille. It felt so great to be out in the sunshine sitting along the water. Living in Central PA there’s not a lot of bodies of water to visit nearby and I definitely miss seeing the shore as much as I did when I was younger.
The artwork on the walls were so COOL. The pieces were all made out of things that could be found walking along the beach and were so creative!
To start off with I ordered a French Onion soup. It was so cheesy and so delicious.
For lunch I got a portabello, tomato, spinach and goat cheese sandwich with a side of fries. It was really tasty!
We were sitting right next to this big guy. For only $890 it can be yours! ;p
After book browsing for a while longer we decided to stop by Frosty Treat Snacks for some ice cream.
It got a little cold so we decided to eat them in the car. I got a scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough, a half a scoop of red velvet cake, and a half a scoop of brownies. They were all amazing!
The next day was sadly the end of our Spring Break and time to head home to PA. After breakfast with Josh’s mom we took the train to NYC where we had a fun afternoon planned. Josh’s friend since childhood Becca lives in the city and I was so excited to get to meet her and explore NYC some more.
For lunch Becca suggested we head to Blockheads, a tasty Mexican place.
The weather was in the 70’s and absolutely beautiful. Check out the cute outdoor dining area in the back we got to dine in!
For lunch I got a “mini” black bean burrito with veggies and a salad. It was so good, as was their frozen margarita. Becca was so nice and so friendly, I really hope we get to hang out again soon!
And that was the rest of my Spring Break! It was such a fun time with wonderful people exploring new places and enjoying delicious food! I hope you all have a great rest of your Sunday!
