Summertime Adventures

August 13, 2015 87 Comments

I love challenges. Caribou Coffee recently challenged me to enjoy a 12-hour summertime adventure using their Crafted Press cold coffee (that they cold steep for 12 hours!) as fuel for the fun along the way. I mean, you don’t have to ask me twice. 😉 Tracking Pixel

Summertime Adventures with Caribou Coffee Her Heartland Soul

Summertime and the living is easy. Fish are jumping and the cotton is high.

Summertime Adventures with Caribou Coffee Her Heartland Soul

That song is so quintessentially summer to me. Summer is at its peak here in Omaha, and Josh and I are trying to enjoy it to the fullest. This past weekend we drove to Standing Bear Lake and spent part of the day outdoors relaxing and soaking up the sun near the water.

We packed up our picnic basket with food and some fun activities to do while we lounged on our picnic blanket and chatted away the day.

Summertime Adventures with Caribou Coffee Her Heartland Soul

Peace is sipping ice cold coffee on a warm summer day lounging next to the guy you love on a blanket in a park. And was this coffee good! It’s strong to keep you energized and lightly sweetened to keep you refreshed. We loved the bold flavor and both talked about how we can’t wait to stop back at Caribou Coffee to get more.

It’s crazy to me that I never used to be a coffee fan growing up because now I can’t get enough of it. Josh is a big reason for that change. He grew up drinking coffee from a very young age and drinks it like I drink water. Haha. He has exposed me to so many different kinds and flavors. We now love trying new brews together. This one was a definite favorite.

Cheers to a wonderful summertime adventure! I think Josh and I need to label these kinds of days mental health retreats and schedule them more frequently!

If you want to take on your own 12-hour summertime adventure challenge you’re in luck! If you download the free Caribou Perks mobile app and take a quick survey Caribou Coffee will give you a free medium Crafted Press coffee. More information can be found here.

What I wouldn’t give to have a picnic! It’s in the mid 90’s here still so the enjoyment factor would be non-existent. By the time it starts to cool off here (late Oct) we will be in Alaska where it will already be snowing and high’s in the 40’s. Yay.

Where is your picnic basket from? My husband gave me one from Fortnum & Mason in London (AKA my favorite place on the planet) and it looks just like that! I haven’t been able to use it yet, but now I’m almost willing to brave the Georgia heat & humidity to give it a go! You’ve inspired me!

Some lovely photos. We don’t have that brand of coffee over here in the uk (as far as I am aware) but I do love iced coffee, even better in the sunshine. We are in the middle of summer here but it’s very typically British – cold and wet and miserable!

Do they have Caribou Coffee in Omaha again?! They had them for a while when I was in college, and then one day they all mysteriously closed. I was excited to see them in Pittsburgh–but then they all became Peet’s coffee, and then THOSE all closed, so now they’re empty.

I absolutely loved their Campfire Mocha as a once-in-a-while treat. 🙂 With dark chocolate, it is the BEST.

I was never a huge coffee fan when I was younger, but I started having a cup with my grandmother every once in a while (somewhere around late high school age), and pretty soon it became a daily part of my routine. I’m probably a little more addicted to it than I’d like to admit, but it’s a nice little moment of joy in my day so I guess you could say I’m happily addicted. Love your photos!
