Science Proves Cats are Purrfect

January 20, 2016 25 Comments

I think we can all agree on the fact that I am a crazy cat lady. And I have zero cares about it.

I mean look at this face! How could you not be in love?

It’s so crazy to me that growing up I didn’t like cats because I thought they were mean. And that to this day I’m still allergic to 90% of them. (Thanks to allergy testing I know I’m allergic to cats and tree dander. So weird!) Punkin has shown me that cats are basically love in a fluffy body. And he’s given me hope that there are other cats like him out there that won’t make my eyes water and my throat close up when I pet them.

There’s a few articles floating around right now about the health benefits cat ownership offers. I thought this infographic summed up all the findings quite well.

Basically science proves cats are purrfect. And we should all go adopt one. 😉

Haha! I love this! I have worked full-time with animals for about 9-years and, to this day, they are few things better than the sound of a purring cat. Heart melting goodness!

I have to show this to Jeff – I’m pretty sure cat purrs cause the opposite effect on him, haha! 😉

I adore cats. I have three in my house, and one is actually mine and mine alone. I love her. She takes over my Instagram all the time. Their very presence just makes me calm. <3

Cats are the best. I’ve had at least one for the past 11 years. So sweet, so soft, and when they purr it’s just heaven.

I love cats! They really do know when you need them and they lower your stress. This is going to sound funny but years ago I was sitting on my living room couch and was in the process of breaking up with boyfriend at the time. It was obviously a hard and stressful conversation for both of us, and just as I started it my cat came and sat in my lap and just stayed there purring. It definitely helped.

I’m totally a crazy cat lady and I’m not ashamed of it! 😀 They’re amazing animals, with a lot of “personality” – I like them for their independance and of course the fluffiness combined with purrs! I’ve heard this opinion too – that cats are mean, but I have no idea where does it come from. As with any pet, you just have to get to know them to understand signs they give – I’ve never been bitten or scratched by annoyed cat after I learned to recognize their moods!

AHH! I’m a crazy cat lady too, no worries. I miss my two cat loves back home with my mother since my fiance and I moved to Austin. Their names are Aries and Patch. I am hoping I can convince the fiance to let us foster a cat or two while we’re here…How do you go about finding cats that are hypoallergenic? How did you pick Punkin out and how did you know?

Aww, we lost our two cats last year, and have been putting off getting another one for various reasons. I miss having them around, especially when it’s cold out and I know they’d be cuddling up with me in front of the fire…

Our two cats are nothing but fur covered love, too 😀 And I totally agree with the healing power of purring. We have dogs as well, but there’s something so comforting about a purring cat. Just brightens my day!
