Savoring the Last Sips of Summer

August 31, 2015 90 Comments

Tracking PixelSometimes you need to take a mental vacation. Close your laptop, turn off your phone notifications, and just let your mind rest. It can be hard to do but so necessary from time to time.

Savoring the Last Sips of Summer Barefoot Crisp White Spritzer Her Heartland Soul

I was having one of those days last week. The kind where nothing seemed to be going right and I felt stressed, frazzled, and on edge the whole day. Barefoot sent me their new Refresh Crisp White Spritzer to try in celebration of Spritzer Season and I could not have picked a better day to pop a bottle of it open.

Savoring the Last Sips of Summer Barefoot Crisp White Spritzer Her Heartland Soul

Barefoot Refresh is a light-bodied, vibrant spritzer that is great when served chilled or over ice and perfect for casual summertime occasions such as cookouts, pool days, or drinking on your rooftop when you’ve had a long day. Barefoot Refresh comes in five different blends including: Crisp Red Spritzer, Crisp White Spritzer, Sweet White Spritzer, Summer Red Spritzer, and Perfectly Pink Spritzer.

I enjoyed my mental vacation with a glass of Crisp White Spritzer, some cheese, crackers, and a good book. I’m slowly but surely making my way through the Outlander series and am really loving it. Only like 10,000 more pages to go! 😉

Savoring the Last Sips of Summer Barefoot Crisp White Spritzer Her Heartland Soul

It’s amazing what can happen when you relax and enjoy the moment. I felt the sun on my face and reveled in the warm weather. My mood started to lift and I thought of what a fun summer this has been. I started to feel less anxious and thought of how I can’t wait to see what is in store for fall. I took the time to truly savor the last sips of summer. And it felt so good!

I usually read a book, watch a movie, go for a run, cuddle with my boyfriend, eat a piece of chocolate, or go for a walk after a long day. Just relax and treat myself 🙂

My doctor calls me a “tea tottler” because I don’t drink. I was married to an alcoholic and fortunately I didn’t become one. But that doesn’t answer your question, does it? I find Abbie helps me relax. I get down on the floor and pet her, and she loves it. Dogs and cats have a way of helping us non-drinkers, I suppose! They purr or smile or whatever it is they do that bring us down to reality. Nothing is better than a dog or a cat! JMHO.
