Josh and I leave for Mexico in less than two weeks! I am so ridiculously excited and dreaming of the ocean, blue skies, and warm weather. We’re staying at an all-inclusive in Puerto Vallarta this year and I seriously have no plans to leave the resort. We did so many excursions in Cancun last year and while it was so fun, I wanted more time to sit and relax. I’m downloading books on my iPad, begging Josh to run down to the cabanas with towels early in the morning to claim them, and ordering a continuous flow of guacamole and margaritas.
I plan on wearing swimsuit coverups more than anything, so I’ve been browsing online to find my favorites. These range in price from save ($15) to splurge ($140). Coverups are available for much more than $140, but if you’re spending more than $140 for a piece of fabric that is usually sheer and meant to be thrown on after getting out of the water, we need to talk about how I can do what you do for a living. 😉

Questions of the Day: Which ones should I get?! What books are on your vacation reading list? Any books you’ve already read and think would be perfect for reading poolside?
Carla says
I LOVE ME SOME TRASHY MEMOIRS.
and all things ANDY COHEN 🙂

Oh cute! I love the Vitamin A coverup! I think I read a few of Lauren Conrad’s books on our honeymoon – easy, a little trashy, perfect for beach reading haha

Enjoy your trip! Even though I just got back from vacation last week, I’m already ready to go back!

I think for something like this (an article of clothing I would wear maybe one week of the year on vacation and maybe a few times on the weekend in the summer) I would be more apt to save and get something cheaper. I want to know who can afford a $140 cover up and where they work, too! Ha. I think I got my cover up last year at Marshalls and will probably use it again this year since there is nothing wrong with it. We go on a cruise in late April and I am counting down the weeks/days/hours/minutes!!

Ugh I’m LOVING the more boho vibey Asos white one and the black expensive one. Mexico is going to be so fun! I’ve been meaning to start Unbroken because of the rave reviews and also Fully Alive by Ken Davis. Looks super motivational..have fun!!

First of all, take me to Mexico with y’all! So jealous! I can’t wait to vicariously live through your pictures.
Coverups are always something that I think look so cute, but I never ever buy. I usually just throw on shorts and a tank which is so not as cute.
Andrea @ The Pineapple Cake says
So jealous of your trip to Mexico!!
Love the blue cover up from J.Crew Factory, although I think $64 might be too much to spend on a cover up for myself. You could definitely get away with the BP cover up as both a cover up and a dress.
If you find some good books let me know. We leave for America next month to visit my family and I am dreading two 36hr travel days.

All the Light We Cannot See was my favorite book last year. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it. Title 9 has some great slip on swimsuit cover up skirts. I always take a couple of those on a beach vacation and then just pair with a white t or tank. Sporty and comfortable!
