I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I got back from State College today after a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day with Josh. We went to Williamsport’s first St. Patrick’s Day parade. Since there isn’t a big Irish population here I wasn’t sure what the parade would be like and was pleasantly surprised by the big turnout and fun floats.
There was a leprechaun balloon!
And bagpipe band! I love bagpipes. Sadly there weren’t Irish Dancers but I’ll hold out hope for next year! I grew up Irish Dancing and absolutely love it. I think its such a beautiful dance.
After the parade Josh and I were starving so we decided to head over to the J Bar and Grille. Its a hidden little spot downtown that was line free which was nice. The atmosphere is so cute.
Josh and I each got pesto mozzarella and tomato sandwiches with fries. The prices were cheap and the food was tasty!
After lunch we enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and took my puppies on a walk around the park. It was such a great day.
For dinner we made reservations at Bullfrog Brewery, a great restaurant with tons of vegetarian options. This is a rarity for Williamsport!
They also brew their own beer. It was packed in there for dinner. We’re lucky we made reservations or it would have been a two hour wait!
I started off with a vegetarian chili soup and ended up sharing most of it with Josh because it was so incredibly spicy. I wish I could handle spices better but I’m a wuss.
For dinner I got pasta with broccoli, tomatoes, squash, mushrooms, and cheese in a cream sauce. It was absolutely delicious.
Josh got a homemade veggie burger on a pretzel roll with garlic fries. I loved the burger and the fries were so tasty.
We were both wearing our green. I added the extra pop of gold in case anyone had any questions I was Irish. ;p
The outside of the Bullfrog is decorated with the most incredible wall artwork. I always love getting a chance to stop by and see it.
This wall is my favorite. Its so incredibly detailed!
After dinner we ended up at Kohls for some silly store browsing. Josh made himself comfy on a lounger.
We were craving dessert so I was excited to take Josh for a local Williamsport treat. Brusters is amazing and they make the best ice cream cake. I got a small chocolate chip cookie dough and it was great.
Saturday was spent lounging and working before heading back to State College. We decided to pick up dinner on the road and stopped at Panera for you pick two combos. I love their broccoli cheddar and the apple fuji salad.
We slept in Monday and got brunch at the Waffle Shop. If you haven’t been to the Waffle Shop in State College and you have the chance, go. Seriously, its amazing. I love their breakfast. We were so excited for a chance to venture out (clearly we’re big risk takers here) and try their lunch.
I got their egg salad sandwich and really liked it. As good as it was though, I’d definitely stick with their breakfast. Their pancakes, muffins, and breakfast parfaits are where its at.
We came home, lounged around, watched TV, and played some games before heading to the mall to check out Express sales. After trying on some stuff and deciding that they do in fact make some of the cutest suits we decided to get Mexican for dinner.
Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in State College is Rey Azteca. The food is so good and fresh and filling without being heavy.
After gorging on chips and dip I ordered the vegetarian fajitas subbing guacamole for the sour cream. I ended up nixing the fajitas and just mixing the veggies with the rice, beans, cheese, tomato, lettuce, and guacamole. It was heavenly.
And that was my weekend! Unfortunately its over and I have school work to do, including a really big paper I need to start working on ASAP. I better get to it.

just FYI panera broccoli cheddar soup isn’t vegetarian 🙁

Oh I know. I made a post on here a few months ago about how I still eat soups made with chicken and beef stocks as well as still eating marshmellows and things that contain gelatin. I know most vegetarians do not do that but as there are not hunks of meat on my plate I personally feel comfortable with it and it works for me. 🙂
