Sometimes after a long day it’s nice to come home and relax with a glass of wine. I’ve been cutting back on booze to try and cut some calories out of my life, but always make exceptions for fun time with friends and date nights with Josh. This night was the latter.
Gloria Ferrer recently sent me a bottle of sparkling blanc de blancs and a bottle of chardonnay to try. They’ve been burning a hole in my refrigerator ever since I got them! I’m not sure what sparked it, but we decided tonight was the perfect night to pack up some wine glasses and take our date night to the roof.
I will never get tired of this view. (And the money sign railing will always make me laugh. 😉 ) Josh and I decided to go big and pop open both bottles.
I’ve been experimenting with print mixing recently and am digging this outfit I wore to work. I feel like it’s fun, but also not too out there. Agree? Disagree? I’m all ears.
Blouse: LOFT
Skirt: Banana Republic (similar)
Belt: J.Crew (similar)
Wedges:BCBGeneration (similar)
Watch: Kate Spade
Funny story: I actually bought this skirt from a fellow blogger! My favorite fashion blogger, Franish, wrote a blog post about knowing when to let go of pieces in your closet that you’re just not using. She mentioned this skirt as one of those items and I knew I could put it to good use! I left her a comment saying I’d love to buy it from her, and the rest is history!
I thought the bubbles on my shirt matched the bubbles in the bottle. 😀
I was really excited to try this wine because of the history behind it. Owned and founded in 1986 by the Ferrer family of Spain, Ferrer wines are made in the southernmost part of Sonoma county. Their mission is to make world-class méthode champenoise sparkling wines in an exceptional New World terroir.
I think they succeeded! Gloria Ferrer wines have earned over 400 gold medals and 50 90+ scores in the last 5 years.
As much as I love wine, I’m not a wine snob. If it tastes good and goes down smooth I’m a happy camper. And this stuff was good.
It was great to get to sit down, relax, and have a good conversation.
All over a bottle of good wine!
Gloria Ferrer is having a seriously fun photo contest on their website right now. You can enter to be America’s next top bottle model. I’m handing over my crown after this post. 😉
Questions of the Day: Do you like to unwind after a long day with a glass of wine? Are you a red or white fan? Have you ever had Gloria Ferrer? Thoughts on print mixing?
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Downtown Omaha has some of the best views. I really want to move to Orpheum Tower. The Orpheum is my favorite building ever.
And I rarely drink, but now I might have to. 🙂
Erin says
The Orpheum is a beautiful building! I’ve never seen the apartments inside though! Are they stunning?
Beks says
No idea, but the pictures on their website are nice. I just like the idea of living that close to the Orpheum, and not having to pay for parking when I go to shows. lol

I love a glass of wine at the end of the day, usually it is red, a Shiraz or Cab Sauvignon.

A glass of wine is a great way to end the day! If only it was calorie free so I could enjoy it more often!
