Plaid for St. Patrick’s Day

March 12, 2017 6 Comments

St. Patrick’s Day is this week! If my pale skin didn’t give it away, or the fact that my maiden name was Erin Smith, I also grew up playing the violin and Irish dancing. My parents wanted me to have no doubts about my heritage. 😉  As it stands, I’m super proud to be of Irish descent.

Two of the items at the top of my bucket list are to #1: visit Ireland and #2: have redhead babies. Since my red hair color is from a bottle and Josh is blonde, the latter isn’t likely to ever happen. But rest assured, Josh and I will definitely make it over to The Emerald Isle one day! Until then, we celebrate like crazy every March 17th.

The weather has gone from balmy to frigid this past week in Omaha, so I’ve pulled back out my layers. Today I’m sharing a look that’s perfect for parades, parties, and any casual St. Patrick’s Day festivities you might have on your calendar. And it has the perfect pop of green to make sure you don’t get pinched!

I adore these Shanore earrings. I have zero tattoos and don’t plan on getting one anytime soon, but if I ever did it would definitely be a Celtic symbol.

Josh’s parents got us a matching set of these boots for Christmas. They were such a sweet and practical gift!

I love this! That green plaid scarf is perfect and it is gorgeous! I love all things green and all things plaid! I am not Irish, but I do honor the Irish by wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day! And I made some leprechaun traps with my boys, too. We have not yet caught one, but they seem to sneak in every night and leave candy for the boys!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you, Erin. Enjoy the weekend!

Love the scarf and boots! I’m mostly Irish and I’m thinking about learning the violin as it’s one of my favorite instruments to listen to. And I also took Irish step dancing lessons when I was little haha. I’d love to visit Ireland one day as well, I hope you get to travel there soon!
Have a nice Saint Patrick’s day, Madison
