2013 was without a doubt one of the biggest years of my life. I graduated college, struggled with (and overcame!) serious anxiety, got married, moved halfway across the country, and started my big girl job. We knew we had to celebrate the end of such an amazing year right, so we decided to do something we’ve never done before.
We got all dressed up and went to New Years Eve at the Joslyn Art Museum. (I’m typically a PJS and NYE countdown on TV kind of girl.) We’re members of the Young Art Patrons group which is for 20 and 30-somethings that like art and want to meet new people. This is their second year hosting the event. When looking for things to do for New Years a while back this was the event everyone raved about. Most of these pictures I took but I grabbed a few from Instagram of the event space since I was a little silly last night. ;p
The Joslyn Museum is beautiful. I was so excited to get to dress up with Josh and have a night on the town. We’re only a block away so it worked out perfectly that we could just walk to and from the event.
I’m in love with all the huge Chihuly blown glass displays the museum has.
Food was provided by Crave. Josh and I have eaten there before and love it. It was the perfect party food.
Us at our table enjoying the food and drinks before I dragged Josh off to the dance floor.
There were many toasts that night to all the possibilities of 2014!
Along with the traditional DJ and dancing, this party also had a fun photo booth.
We ended up making friends with our table and did some silly photobooth shots together. Josh and I also got ones of just the two of us. I think I win the worst photobooth prop user award. My hat blocks people, my lips are on backwards, and I turned the sign sideways. Oh well, the pictures still came out great. ;p
As midnight neared champagne was passed out and the countdown began.
We kissed and cheered from the dance floor. Every year it feels like life just keeps getting better and better. I am so excited for all that 2014 has in store for me.
