Today the weather was so nice I decided after a long day of schoolwork attempting to work on school stuff and instead watching Married to Medicine and Don’t Be Tardy, to lace up my running shoes and head out the door.
I ran/walked a 5k around the River Walk in town and had fun snapping pictures on my phone as I did so. I managed to get my run in just as the sun was setting which made for a very pretty backdrop. I was trying to soak in all the mountain views before I move out to the Prairie lands.
You can tell which photos I was running while I took and which photos I took while walking. This was a blurry running shot. haha
I love that even though it’s a river walk there’s still hills to conquer. I have to build back up my leg muscles.
I love the walking path on this bridge.
The first time I saw this statue it scared the crap out of me. It was my first time running the path and I thought it was someone standing really still waiting for me to pass by. I’m such a dork. haha
Passing by Wegmans. Oh how I’m going to miss this grocery store!
I saw a few Amish fishing in the lake. You know you live in the boonies when…
I love getting to run along the water. It’s so peaceful.
Me very sweaty but very happy after a great workout.
Question of the Day: What would I see if you brought a camera along for your usual run?

my usual walk? 🙂
FAR FAR FAR MORE SCENIC here in CALI.
I should snap some pics, too.

Looks gorgeous! What a fun place to run. On my runs you might see: mountains, rivers, ponds, oh and some peacocks 😉
Erin says
Oh wow, I LOVE peacocks! I was one for Halloween once! haha

Looks like a great place to run. I normally run in my neighborhood so you see houses that all look the same and sometimes a speeding car.
Erin says
It was a really fun run. I love getting to run by nature.

Haha I’ve definitely had similar encounters like yours to the statue! Only for me they usually are trees or lampposts.
Erin says
haha Yeah I was so freaked out and then I felt so silly!

I actually just posted about an upcoming race I have- my first!!
Because my race is coming up, I tried running outside the other day, and WOW. Did you struggle with the transition from running on a treadmill to running outside? I did my run after my strength training and plan to tomorrow again, but I’m nervous about how hard it was.

For me it was actually harder to run on a treadmill. I did a lot of resistance and incline training on the treadmill. I was so scared to get outside and run but when I did I was like wow, I like this, and actually ran faster. Don’t be nervous though! The more you do it, the easier it gets! I’m back at the beginning after a season of not running trying to build back up my stamina.
Jackie says
Don’t get me wrong, I loved it…so much so that I did it again today after my strength training!
I should try resistance and incline training on the treadmill. I typically just switch up the speed, but I think it’s the natural inclines outside that make it so much for difficult. Since I spend my day indoors, I’m just loving the entire experience of running outside. I love reading posts like this for inspiration. Keep em’ coming 🙂
