My First Married Christmas

December 26, 2013 7 Comments

My first married Christmas was absolutely amazing. The whole day I couldn’t stop thinking about how lucky I am and how I already have everything I could ever want. (I was still really looking forward to opening the presents though! :p)

Christmas Eve we went over to Molly’s aunts and uncles house for dinner. Their whole family is so nice and so fun. They are also amazing cooks. They made eggplant parm for us! It was wonderful to spend Christmas Eve in such great company.

After dinner we headed home to exchange Christmas PJs.

If I didn’t fill you in on this new tradition we’re starting: on Christmas Eve we open a present from each other. In it, there’s Christmas pajamas, a snack, and a Christmas movie to watch on Christmas. This year the movies were Lemon Drop Kid and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. We thoroughly enjoyed both.

Before we knew it Christmas morning was here! Molly’s family sent us home with creme brulee french toast and egg casserole to heat up for breakfast. It was such a tasty breakfast and the perfect treat while we opened up stockings.

After breakfast, stockings, and watching our first movie we lounged around and I took a nap. When IĀ  woke up it was time to open the presents under the tree, start dinner, and watch our second movie.

Dinner was delicious. Thank you Josh and Whole Foods! Dessert isn’t pictured but it was one of their amazing pecan pies. My favorite. šŸ˜€

Santa was very good to me. <3 (This was wrapped inside a toaster box! ;p)

And my heart was very full. One of my little presents to Josh was a penguin making kit. When I was on the phone talking with family he made this one for me. šŸ˜€

I hope your holidays were everything you wished them to be!

Question of the Day: What was the highlight of your day?

I had my first married Christmas this year too! We ended up spending it at my parents’ house instead of at our apartment, but it was still a lot of fun! Merry Christmas!
