Mexican Dining at Plaza Azteca

March 12, 2013 33 Comments

Thanks so much for all your sweet comments on my bridal shower yesterday. I loved reading each and every comment and can’t wait to respond back to them on the trip home to PA tomorrow. While Saturday was all about celebrating with girls, Sunday was a celebration that involved Josh as well. We all went out for Mexican.

Josh has been talking up Plaza Azteca ever since he went with his parents a few months ago. He was tossing around phrases like the best Mexican food he’s ever had when describing it. Those are big words so I was so excited to get to try it myself this weekend.

The interior was absolutely gorgeous. I loved the ambiance of the place.

Josh ordered a frozen margarita that I totally stole sips of the whole night. I normally don’t like unflavored margaritas but this one was delicious and sweet. I would definitely order one next time.

To start off our meal we got house made guacamole. You pick your level of spiciness and then they make it right in front of you. It was such a cool experience to get to watch it be made fresh. It also made me wonder why I haven’t made it myself yet. It’s so easy. This is on my to-do list.

The guacamole was so delicious and fresh. We devoured this.

For my meal I got the veggie fajitas. They were so delicious and the vegetables were seasoned perfectly. I always eat these by nixing the tortillas and just mixing everything on the plates. It’s so tasty. The dish definitely lived up to the hype!

We finished off our meal by splitting bananas foster cheese cake. I didn’t know there was bananas foster cheese cake but it was so rich and tasty. It was a delicious end to a wonderful night. Everyone loved their meals and we all left with very happy tummies.

Question of the Day: What’s your favorite Mexican meal?

I love fresh guacamole. It really is pretty easy to make. Fun idea for them to make it at your table.

YUM. There was a Mexican place by my college (Guadalajara Grill if you read Fitnessista) that makes guac tableside. SO GOOD.

Ooh, I love all things Mexican- especially fajitas. Since moving to Tx, we’ve had the same experience with guac- and it impressed my husband so much that we now own the molcajete in your photo above. 🙂 Makes for some delicious homemade guacamole!
