Jalapeno and Sundried Tomato Pizza

August 5, 2012 18 Comments

I hope everyone had a great weekend and that your Monday is off to a good start. I’m sorry I’ve been pretty MIA around here. The days have been flying. I can’t believe I go back to school in two weeks, am turning 22 in a little less than a month, and am getting married in 11 months! Where the heck is time going?

A few days ago I got a surprise package in the mail from O Olive Oil. I reviewed their vinegar/ oil duos before and absolutely loved them so I was pretty excited to get to try more.

The sent me a trio of olive oil spreads. My mouth started watering as I read the labels. From left to right the flavors are blood orange kalamata olives and capers; meyer lemon picholine olives and champagne vinegar; and jalapeno-lime and sundried tomatoes.

Josh loves spreads and dips just as much as I do so I knew I had to wait to try them until I saw him. When I brought them to his place he immediately selected the jalepeno-lime and sun-dried tomatoes flavor to use in a dinner creation. When he suggested making a pizza of sorts I was curious what it would taste like but knew to trust him when it came to kitchen creations.

And what a creation it was! We picked up some Italian bread from Wegmans. Josh broiled the bread for a minute before covering it in spicy pepper hummus, the olive oil spread, and topping it with Welsh cheddar and feta cheese. He also added some sweet paprika, cracked black pepper, ground fennel seed, granulated garlic, and onion powder to enhance the flavor before broiling it for another three minutes. Josh really knows how to work his spices!

The result was pure deliciousness. I can’t wait to make this again soon. It was so flavorful and tasty. And I definitely recommend checking out O Olive Oil’s line of products, they’re so creative and good.

Question of the Day: What’s your favorite unique pizza topping?

My that pizza looks yummy. I’d love to try those spreads! They sound delicious. For pizza, I’m a mushroom girl. Usually with other things too, like garlic and basil, but I can definitely do mushrooms all on their own.
