Sometimes it feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything checked off my to-do list. I know I’m not the only one in this situation. Everyone’s plate is full and we’re all trying to do our best to juggle it all.
So how do I balance the go go go of life? Honestly I don’t. I’m usually pretty off-kilter most days. But I try my best to prioritize my daily to-dos and make smart decisions about my time.
A huge chunk of time that I’ve been working on optimizing is time spent doing activities that leave you with a brain surplus. This could include things like commuting to work, going for a run, walking the dog, inputting sets of numbers into an Excel spreadsheet, unloading the dishwasher, and resizing a bunch of photos. You’re physically doing something, but you have brain power to spare to put towards another task.
My favorite way to spend my brain surplus is on things that keep me connected. While going for a walk I like to catch up with friends and family, while completing a monotonous task at work I put a business Podcast on in the background. I use my brain surplus for new books and dance music. Utilizing my time this way helps keep me connected with my loved ones, the world, and my hobbies.
It is amazing how Bluetooth headphones can help keep you connected on the go. I’ve been using VerveOnes+ by Motorola for podcast listening, workout tunes, and even phone calls thanks to the built in dual microphones. (It’s pretty cool, if you’re listening to something else when you get a phone call you just touch your ear to pick up and then your previous activity resumes as soon as the call is over.) Because the headphones are wireless, I have full use of my hands and don’t have to worry about cords. The VerveOnes+ sync easily to my phone, are Siri compatible, and are sweatproof and waterproof. They’re pretty freaking sweet.
Oh yeah, and they charge in this convenient compact case that you can easily slip into your pocket or purse as you head out the door.
I may not have life all figured out, but I have figured out the importance of utilizing my brain surplus, and the power of a pair of wireless headphones.
Questions of the Day: Do you use wireless headphones? How do you maximize your brain surplus? Do VerveOnes+ sound like a headphone you would be interested in?

Those headphones look sick! I love listening to podcasts while I’m cooking or running or in the grocery but the cords on my headphones always get in the way lol. Definitely need to look into getting something like this 🙂

Have you tried running with them? I use Beats Wireless, but when working out, sometimes the wire behind my neck annoys me.
Erin says
Unfortunately not yet. The mono has kept me laying low, but hopefully soon!
