Can you believe it’s almost Valentine’s Day? It’s a time to shower your love with sweetness and show how much you care.
Josh and I are huge on holidays. We love giving gifts and spoiling each other. I’ve given Josh a variety of Valentine’s Day presents over the years, but they always involve something sweet.
This year they’ll involve one of the sweetest things in the world: honey! I took this picture at FitBloggin’ last year when I was in Savannah visiting The Savannah Bee Company store/tasting room. I immediately fell in love with the products and picked up little treats for my FitBloggin’ roommates and a whole bunch of souvenirs for Josh. And by souvenirs for Josh I mean a pantry full of honey and honey products that I could gift him but then eat and use half of. 😉
I love honey. Josh and I attended a seminar two years ago where we learned about the importance of honey and honeybees in our ecosystem. It blew my mind and opened me up to a world of science I was previously completely unaware of. We also learned about the many health benefits of raw honey and honeycomb. It made me love honey even more and I become a huge honey advocate. It’s my sweetener of choice. 😀

Adam Turoni is a renowned Savannah chocolatier. Savannah Bee Company partners with him to make a delicious line of chocolates and desserts. The honey caramel sauce is so good I bought two jars when I was at FitBloggin’. Josh and I ate it straight out of the container with spoons.
Did you know honey can tell you a lot about the region it came from? Nebraska honey has a lot molasses undertones to it, which is totally different than the honey I grew up eating in Pennsylvania. Georgia honey is completely different from both of them. I absolutely love them all.
Gift Box Number 2 is My Sweet and Sensitive Valentine Gift Set. It includes the following:
- Lemongrass Spearmint Honey and Royal Jelly Shampoo (8oz)
- Lemongrass Spearmint Honey and Propolis Conditioner (8oz)

I love this gift box because it shows the many applications of honey. I picked up the Royal Jelly Body Butter when I was in Savannah after learning about all of its uses. Josh and I used it all summer for sunburns and bug bites. It also smells divine.
The thing I can’t stress enough about this honey is the quality. I found this interview online where Whole Foods interviewed Ted Dennard about how and why he started The Savannah Bee Company. His passion is evident. After eating and appreciating good honey I’m hooked. It tastes so much better than those honey bears you get in the grocery store that have ten different kinds of honey mixed in.

I am pretty much a honey fan but I’d have to say that there are so many kinds of honey flavors depending on the area! I like using honey as a natural allergy remedy (I have a bottle of NE honey in Omaha and a bottle of MN honey here lol!).

The first box looks fabulous, being a newbie to all there is to love about honey, I had no idea how different honey would taste all over the country (it makes sense though). Now I’m curious as to how different regions stack up against our Nebraska honey!

I love honey, adding it to my morning oatmeal and lunch everyday. My lunch consists of homemade banana nut bread with a smear of almond butter, sliced banana coins and a heavy drizzle of the nectar of the gods…HONEY!
For Valentine’s Day my wife and I will go to lunch and a movie. I also bake something chocolaty for dessert, brownies or cake.
we’re definitely a gift box #1 kind of home … honey is our superfood of choice!
The Honey Caramel Delight for me please, wouldn’t last but a few days before I absolutely ran through it all. I love honey, especially on cinnamon raisin toast or in a big bowl where I mix cheerios, 1 banana and honey as my post-run recovery snack.
