Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a lot of fun ringing in 2015!
Josh and I went to Molly and Brian’s house for a NYE party. It was so much fun, but the struggle to stay awake till midnight was real. This post is going up late because my start to the day was a little late. 😉
I know some people aren’t a fan of new years resolutions, but I’ve always appreciated them. I like to think of them as goals for the new year. As I read on Instagram today, January 1st starts Day 1 of a 365 page blank book. It’s up to you to fill in the pages. 🙂
Here are my goals for my 2015 book:
1. Sleep more
I feel best when I’ve had rest. This effects every part of my day, so I’m really giving this one priority. The big thing standing in the way of my sleep right now is blogging. I currently blog at night before bed and I want to re-evaluate that process. I think I’m going to start writing on the weekends and having my posts scheduled for the upcoming week. My blog is always a work in progress, and I appreciate you guys sticking with me as I try to find my groove with my new job.
2. Eat better
This is really a three part goal: eat out less, eat smaller portions, and eat more greens. I’ve got to get my weight under control and this is the way I’m going to do so. I don’t want to be writing the same goal in next year’s 2016 post so I’m really going to be focusing on consistency day in and day out with my eating.
3. Be a better wife
I really have the best husband in the entire world. He’s loving, he’s kind, he’s patient, he’s understanding, and he’s selfless. Every day I try to be a better woman to be the best wife I can possibly be for him. He deserves it.
4. Travel
I want to see the world! Aside from Mexico, I don’t think we’ll be leaving the country this year but I would certainly never turn down the opportunity to do so. I want to travel as much as I can this year, to anywhere and everywhere, and see as much of the world as I possibly can. It’s how I learn and grow and stay curious. I know these years before kids are the perfect time to do so and I really want to take advantage of that.
5. Pamper myself
Otherwise known as: focus on me. I want to read more books. I want to make time for my girlfriends. I want to get my nails done. I want to get more massages. I want to get more laser hair removal. And I want to look into getting Latisse.
Latisse is a prescription that is clinically proven to lengthen and thicken your eyelashes. It’s used medically for patients that have short, thinning lashes, and cosmetically for people that just want longer lashes. MinuteClinic reached out to me to let me know they’re now offering consultations so I can find out if I’m a good candidate for it. I hope I am! I wore false eyelashes for the first and only time at my wedding and I felt like a million bucks. I’ve looked into eyelash extensions but didn’t want to spend all that money, all that time, and risk all the complications. From what I’ve read about Latisse it seems cheaper, safer, and way less time consuming. You just apply some of the medication at night before you go to bed. I’ll keep you guys updated on what I hear after my consultation!
Questions of the Day: Are you a fan of New Years resolutions? If you are, what are some of yours?
I also want to add that if you are making big health changes this year like quitting smoking or losing a bunch of weight, know you are not alone! MinuteClinic offers smoking cessation and weight loss programs where you work with professionals and check in regularly. Big changes don’t happen overnight and everyone needs support if they want to be successful.
If you’re just looking for someone to listen while you work on achieving your goals email me at [email protected]. We can encourage each other!
Disclosure: MinuteClinic compensated me to mention that they are offering Latisse consultations but I would have never shared that information if I wasn’t personally interested in the service myself. I love long eyelashes and want to find a way to get them permanently. If I am a good candidate for the medication I will be paying for it myself.

These are really great, totally do-able resolutions! I am with you on NOT wanting to be talking about weight-related goals for 2016. Here’s to more greens this year! I’m intrigued about Latisse too. I have the shortest, thinest lashes, but I’ve never worn false ones.
Happy New Year!!

I definitely do not want to have “lose weight” as another goal next year – this is it! Totally with you here! Here’s to a fantastic 2015 for all of us!

Happy New Year to you both Erin! 🙂
I loved your quoting of “January 1st starts Day 1 of a 365 page blank book. It’s up to you to fill in the pages.” I’m going to remember that!
New Years resolution wise, I’m going to spend more time walking in Scotland with Lynne so we can get lots more photographs for my blog. That way I’ll be able do more on the blog, plus spend more time with my wife! 😀
Hope you two have a fantastic 2015!

Amen to #1! You definitely need to rest more 😉 You are always on the go-go-go, and just hearing about it makes me tired sometimes 😉 I think writing your posts on the weekends will REALLY help you. I LOVE following that format. It makes my week nights SO much more relaxing!

I want to be less stressed and hurried this year! I often leave errands and chores until the weekend and then I spend all weekend on those things!
