I don’t think it would be possible to start this post without first mentioning what happened in Newtown, Connecticut last Friday. My heart breaks for those poor families who lost so much in such a horrific way during what should be such a happy time of year. I’m not a parent so I can’t imagine what the loss of a child feels like but it has got to be one of the worst things in the world. Watching the news coverage and the President address the town was absolutely gut wrenching. Thinking of those little lives cut short way too soon breaks my heart. I pray that peace finds their families, their brave teachers, and their town. <3
For some happier updates on my life, Josh got his stitches removed! He is healing up and looking as handsome as ever. I’m so glad his cyst was removed before it ever became a real problem. He’ll have the bandage for a few days and then by this time next year he’ll only be left with a faint little scar, if anything. I love when he dresses up and wears his glasses! 😀
My stomach has been all over the place. I’m currently thinking it’s on the up and up, fingers crossed that’s true! I went to the Doctors last week and they took blood and had me leave some digestive “samples” (for lack of a less tmi word here) for them to look at. The samples came back all clean, and I should be hearing back about the blood work on Tuesday. I’m really hoping this resolves itself because I want to get to enjoy holiday foods when I’m in CT for the holidays! In the meantime I’ve been sticking to safe foods and eating lots of Chobani. It hasn’t been aggravating my stomach and I’m loving the mango flavor.
I didn’t think kale would aggravate my stomach but then I went and ate an entire batch-ful. Kale chips are just too good to resist! I promised Josh that when we live together and have a dehydrator I’ll make these all the time for us. They’re one of my favorite snacks.
I got to add this adorable ornament to my parent’s tree! I participated in a fun ornament swap over at Just Keep Sweating. I was paired with Diana, one of Caryln’s real-life friends. We are so alike it is freaky, it was so much fun getting to know her and getting to go ornament shopping for her. She picked out the perfect ornament for me, I can’t wait to start a penguin ornament collection with Josh!
Speaking of shopping, did I luck out on the most amazing denim deals at T.J.Maxx this weekend. I love my T.J.Maxx in Williamsport but the one in State College is the treasure trove of designer goods. I’ve been needing new jeans badly, like I’ve been living in Wunder Unders and leggings when my one pair of jeans are in the hamper badly. I found a pair of great fitting Paige jeans and two pairs of Joes Jeans all for less than the price of one pair of these jeans at a department store. I also found a super cute Vince sweater and a BCBG shirt. It was a very happy shopping day.

Yum! The kale chips look really good! I haven’t made some for a while but your pic makes me want to go whip up a batch right now! No kale though… that’s a problem! I love finding good denim deals! I find a lot of good deals at Nordstrom Rack and Marshalls. We have pretty plain ornaments (red and silver themed) with a few special ones. I love a silver heart we got on the first Christmas we were married and a photo frame of our little guy’s first Christmas last year 🙂
