Happy Friday! Wow is this going to be a jam-packed weekend. I’ve got a dinner date with friends, a candy making class with Josh, a house warming party, and then Super Bowl celebrations! It’s going to be a fun time. Here’s what I’m loving this Friday:
1. I’ve heard great things about NYDJ Henley Blouses for years now. I finally bit the bullet and ordered one a few weeks ago to try out. I am so in love with it I’m ordering more. They fit great, are super cute, and come in so many fun colors and patterns! They’re perfect for wearing casually over jeans on the weekend or dressing up with slacks and pumps for work.
2. I love the Piano Guys. I walked down the aisle to one of their compositions. Their latest take on Adele’s Hello is beautiful. It’s perfect for playing and relaxing to on a stressful day.
3. I think sandwiches are just the most delicious things ever. This one from Kitchen Table was especially amazing to come home to after work the other day. Roasted butternut squash, maytag blue cheese, house ricotta, roasted chile garlic & spicy toasted pecans on house focaccia. I wish I could eat a sandwich like this on the regular. 😀
4. You know you’re an adult when you get excited about an iron. 😉 Seriously though, tell me this is not the cutest iron you’ve ever seen! Rowenta partnered with Project Runway to create the DW4051 Steam Iron. It’s fashionable, and way more importantly, functional. One of the perks of adulting is having a nice wardrobe. This iron has been helping me take care of my clothes.
5. Beauty regimens do not come easy to me. I see some girls come into work with flawless hair and makeup each day, and let me tell you, it just isn’t me. Like a crockpot, I’m more of a set it and forget it type girl. 😉 Minimal maintenance and low fuss is my go-to. I’ve been using Living Proof’s Night Cap on my hair before bed and it helps so much. I’m able to wake up, wash my hair, let it air dry, and be good to go on with my day.
Questions of the Day: Are you watching the Super Bowl on Sunday? Do you have a daily beauty regimen? What do you love and/or hate about adulting?
Linz @ Itz Linz says
yes! i’m hosting super bowl sunday this year and providing snarf’s sandwiches! i got to create a sandwich for it and it’s riiiiiidiculously good!! i hate all the cleaning chores that adulting involves lol

Some great tips and some things I hadn’t heard of before! I’ll have to try out that sandwich.

That iron looks amazing! I’m so embarrassed to say, but I don’t own one… nor would I even know how to use it (sigh, I know…). My mother is begging me to add an iron onto my bridal registry, so thank you for writing about this in your Friday Five — perfect timing!
Rhian Westbury says
The night cap protector looks really interesting, might have to see what that’s about. I get excited about home things but I hate ironing, I hang all my clothes up to dry to try and avoid it. Have a fun fully packed weekend x
Mithra Ballesteros says

I love that blouse. It’s nice and simple and looks like it would go with lots of different things. I might get myself one 😉

I LOVE the Piano Guys! All their stuff is great. Hadn’t heard this version before and have to admit it’s not my favourite, but certainly very good!

i’m team low maintenance, too. anything that can work wonders quickly or while i’m sleeping is a great product in my books. i wish i could have flawless hair and makeup daily, but i won’t i know i won’t.

I am seriously lusting over that blouse! I want one (or three!).
Ana De- Jesus says
I am so sad that the veggie sandwich is not available here because it sounds freaking amazing. I would have never of thought of combining all those delicious ingredients!
Rox-Anne says
Oh yes, I’ll be watching Super Bowl. I’m the only girl in a house full of boys so I’m used to our lives revolving around sports! As for the beauty regimen, I never go to sleep with my makeup on. It’s so bad for your, plus I dislike the feeling. I run my eyes a lot and frankly, I wait all day to take my eye make up so I can rub them (contact wearer). What I love about adulting, eating candy whenever i want, hate that if I do eat all the candy I don’t burn it off like I once did 😀 Enjoy your party this weekend! xx
Crystal // Dreams, etc. says
I’ll have to check out that hair product. I used to have an intense haircare routine when my hair was longer, but now that it’s about shoulder-length I don’t do much with it anymore. Have a great weekend!

Amber says
Wow…! Butternut squash sandwich!! YUM 😀 That looks so amazing!!
Amber says
Oh… and to answer your questions… I’m not actually watching the superbowl tomorrow!! I usually watch it every year, but today I’m just taking a weekend to do some other (more fun) things. I’m not that big into football, and I usually go to my parents just for the superbowl food, but this year I’m working on some cool recipes and didn’t want to make the trip.
I really don’t have a beauty regimen. I should, lol. I just can’t stick to one!
Adulting? Like being an adult? I love the freedom of being an adult but I really hate some of the responsibilities that go along with it. I think 18 is the best age, because you are still living with your parents (well, most kids in the US are), so you haven’t yet acquired the responsibilities of rent, bills, etc. But you’re 18, so you have *most* of the freedoms you’d have if you lived in your own place. HAHA.

I hope you have an amazing weekend – I have to admit I love sandwiches as well and that one looks delicious. x
Laura says
Gread post, it’s cool to see what you’re loving each week. I like that blouse, too.
leeshastarr says
Hope you had a great dinner date! I won’t be watching the Super Bowl, I never have and doubt I ever will haha
Kaylin@EnticingHealthyEating says
A sandwich with roasted butternut squash?! Say what? Now that sounds interesting. As far as adulting goes, my favorite thing about it is the responsibility and ownership of your own life. Of managing your own life, your own home, etc. It feels good! And the worst part is coming up…taxes. Having to do taxes. Boo!
Charli Blogs says
I got really excited about an iron in the boxing day sales!
It’s a steam iron and a bit of a beast, but I can iron so much faster now haha
Deborah @ Confessions of a mother runner says
Never would have thought to combine squash and blue cheese! I might have to try that. A candy making class sounds great fun
Rachel says
How have I never had a butternut squash sandwich in my lifetime? x
Sarah says
The hair product sounds fab, I need to try that! I also really love that blouse.
I won’t be watching the super bowl, I don’t really understand it to be honest lol! I’m not even sure if it’s even on UK T.V to be honest lol.
