Friday Five

June 26, 2015 44 Comments

Happy Friday guys! Does anyone else feel like the week flew by? I’m definitely not complaining. haha Bring on the weekend! Here’s what I’m loving this week:

loft maxi her heartland soul erin fairchild

Dress (Different color) | Bag | Shoes (Near identical) | Watch (On sale!) | Earrings

1. If you are in the Omaha area and looking for a photographer you have to check out Ashley Nicole Photography! I booked a session with her last week to get some outfit photos done for upcoming blog posts and could not be more happy with how they turned out. She is so incredibly talented and also such a nice person and so easy to work with. Win-win!

I feel like I’ve been living in this dress this summer so I was excited for an opportunity to have it photographed. It is so comfy and so cute! Unfortunately it’s sold out at LOFT, but this new one is the exact same cut just in a different pattern. It already has all five star reviews just like my dress did.

2. Have you heard the new Ed Sheeran song, Photograph? It’s perfection, and baby Ed is so cute!

3. Have you ever made a DIY bath soak? I just did and I am in love! Baths are always amazing, but taking one after a killer bootcamp workout = bliss. I found the recipe for this soak in the Whole Foods Ready for Action bag (coming out tomorrow!) and was excited to try it out after a particularly brutal night of home exercise. 2 cups of Epsom salts, 1/2 cup baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of powdered ginger is all you need for a bath that will sooth your sore muscles, wash away all the sweat and dirt, and help you relax and support your circulation.

4. Josh and I had a Vino Van Gogh date this week! It was such a fun time! For those who aren’t familiar, Vino Van Gogh is a painting class that travels! Each week it is held at a different restaurant with a new painting being taught. (The calendar is online.) You eat, drink, and paint your heart out. We had a blast painting our seahorses and eating delicious Italian food at Spezia. For having zero artistic abilities I was pretty happy with how my seahorse turned out. I named her Ariel for her flowing red mane.

Vino Van Gogh offered us the chance to try the class for free, and now they want a Her Heartland Soul reader (and guest!) to try a class out too! While Vino Van Gogh is offered all over the country, the winner of these tickets must live in Omaha. Simply leave a comment letting me know what sort of thing you would like to paint at a class like this! I’ll pick a winner next Wednesday!

5. I did something I never thought I would do this week. I bought a pair of mules! I have been lusting over this pair but could not bring myself to spend $200 for them. So when I found this pair marked down to $38.34 I knew I had to pick them up. I can’t wait to get them in the mail!

Thanks Stephanie! I’m not a painter so for my painting to look anything like a seahorse made me very happy! haha I will unfortunately not be at BlogFest this year although I have heard it is a great time. Are you going?

Did your Vino Van Gogh instructor tell you about the “Acrylic Fairy?” Apparently she comes around after your painting has been sitting awhile, and makes it look better every time you look at it. I did the Sunset class at Fernando’s last weekend, and she was right about that Fairy! 🙂

Huge fav of mules. I just need to find a cute pair that I can rock with my summer wardrobe. And I love epsom salt baths after a long run in the winter. In the summer, I just find that I just sit and sweat so I’m more of a shower kind of girl. And no big weekend plans – running a half marathon on Sunday just to get back used to running longer as I start marathon training next week. EESH! Hope you have a fabulous weekend : )

Your painting is SO cute (and so are you!!)!!!! And those shoes! Gasp. Love.

I don’t care too much what I paint – I just want it to look GOOD. 🙂 I think Beks’ painting (from The Modern Jane Austen) was in the top 2 of my class recently, though! 🙂

I hope I win this!! It’s so fun!!

Oooh I LOVE those shoes! I’ve been wanting a pair of mules, too but are they comfy for actually walking around in? Or are they more ‘sitting shoes’ (as my dad calls them HA)? Can’t wait for the outfit pictures, too – I’m sure they’re gorgeous! Happy weekend 🙂

They’re supposed to be comfy for walking around in but I’ll let you know for sure once I get them and try them on! Your dad sounds awesome! haha If I told my dad I wanted a pair of sitting shoes I think he’d think I lost my mind. He’s not really in touch with girl stuff. ;p
