1. I am so looking forward to a weekend of rest and recuperation. I feel like all I’ve been doing is sleeping but I’m still not back on Central time. Maybe my body just didn’t want me to leave Hawaii? ;p
2. I miss my Aunti Kathi a lot. I wish Hawaii wasn’t so far away so we could see each other more often. She is one of the kindest and funnest people I know. (<— I’ve been told my whole life funnest isn’t a word. I choose to ignore that fact.)
3. Hawaiian ducks! These were scootin’ around in Chinatown and I had to take a picture. I would live on a farm with all the animals in the world if I could. Except for bugs and reptiles. They aren’t invited.
4. I tried my first Kabocha pumpkin while in Hawaii and quickly became obsessed. I proceeded to order it every time I saw it on a menu. When visiting Whole Foods on the last day of my trip (doesn’t everyone browse grocery stores for fun on vacation?) I was incredibly tempted to buy some and try and smuggle it through the produce scanner at the airport. Josh talked me out of my criminal activity by assuring me we get Kabocha pumpkins in the fall. I can’t wait to eat.them.all.
5. This is probably one of my favorite pictures of the trip. Josh was such a good sport about turning into a human clothes hanger every time I had to put on sunscreen. 😀 This was taken as we were getting ready to hike Diamond Head.
Question of the Day: Do you have any fun plans for this weekend? Aside from grocery shopping and a yoga date with Joanna I think my weekend should be nice and quiet. I’m looking forward to it since next week I have some big blog posts planned and need to organize my 10,000 pictures from Hawaii.

Erin, I’m so jealous of your trip. I have two girls, four and two and those type of vacations are over for awhile. Weekend plans? We have a birthday party at chucky cheese and we will planting in our garden.
Erin says
I hope the birthday party was fun! I used to love Chuck E Cheese!

LOL! Love the last photo of Josh! And I totally am with you on using whatever words you want 🙂 I use “atleast” knowing fully well that the words should be separated, but I just want them to go together so that’s how I write it!
Erin says
Life’s too short! Use the words you want to! 😀

Omg have a blast! The next time we go to Hawaii I want to go to Maui. I was only there for a stopover once before and I’ve heard amazing things.

Which Hawaiian Island did you visit? We’ve been to Kauai and it was incredible! I am sure it will take time to readjust from your amazing vacation. We are going to a fun family day the Mt. Washington Hotel tomorrow! Have a great weekend!
Erin says
I’ve heard incredible things about Kauai! We were on Oahu. How was your family fun day at Mt. Washington Hotel? That sounds like an awesome trip!
Carla says
What a terrific trip! I would love to visit Hawaii. Since I don’t have family there it would be more vacationish and I do enjoy seeing cities from the eyes of someone who lives there.
Erin says
Yes! I love seeing a new location from the perspective of a local.
