This post is a fun, quick update about what’s going on in my life at the moment. I’m going to keep it short and simple because as soon as I hit publish I am crawling into bed. I am beyond exhausted after today, but exhausted in a good way because I was so productive and got so much done. It feels good! 😀
Tonight I met up with everyone from work for dinner and we had the best time. I had my first ever sandwich topped with cole slaw and it was delicious. I ordered a veggie cheese steak and despite it using none of the same ingredients it managed to turn out quite amazing. There was squash and spinach and cheese and Italian dressing. It was so good. I also learned there’s a big difference between Petron and Jose Cuervo, especially in price. Lesson definitely learned! ;p
I got new glasses! I had been using my old glasses for over three years and it was desperately time for a new pair. The lenses were actually starting to separate from each other. Last week I ordered this pair of Raybans online and then brought them over to my eye doctor to have the lenses cut and my correct prescription put in. I’m in love with them.
I got my ring back! I was so, so happy to get my ring back from the jeweler and finally get to wear it. It is now a 4.5 instead of a 5.75 and fits perfectly. I am so in love with this ring, I can’t stop staring at it when it’s on my finger. It’s so sparkly! ;p
I had heard amazing things about this book, The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, before. As soon as I became engaged I knew I wanted to read it. I am so excited for Josh and I’s wedding day and know it is going to be fabulous but I also know that the wedding is one day and marriage is the rest of our lives. Since I have obviously never been married before I want t make sure I’m as prepared as possible, which is why I rented this book from the library. It was so easy to read I was done in two days. It’s all about what to do to stay close as a couple so that when problems arise you are strong enough as a couple to survive them, and when you are going through hard times how to bring back that closeness with each other. While some parts of it were common sense, a lot of it was eye opening. I really learned a lot. I’m so excited because when I told Josh about the book he said he’d like to read it too. I am really looking forward to getting to talk about it with him and get his perspective on the information. I am so happy with how in synch we are on such important issues and how easily we communicate. I think we are entering into marriage from a very good place. 🙂
And that’s my short little update. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I’m so excited, Josh and I are tasting wedding cake on Saturday. Yum!

There is nothing better than a sandwich with some slaw on it! And my glasses only have one arm, and are so scratched up from the kids drawing on them! I just can’t seem to break down and get a new pair, but my son just got his first pair a little over a week ago! Have fun cake tasting!
Erin says
Aww I’m sure he looks adorable in them! And thanks so much, cake tasting was so much fun!
