It’s almost the weekend! Is everyone else excited? I’m looking forward to lounging and snuggling with Josh, making progress on our Save the Dates, and getting in some sweat sessions. #OperationFitBride is off to a wonderful start, after work today I headed to the gym for a sweat sesh. I was really proud of my progress. I ran 3 miles alternating between an all out sprint and a speedy walk. I played the song game, where I ran like hell for one song and then fast walked the next song to catch my breathe. It’s a really fun way to vary your pace and keep yourself motivated. I think music is a crucial part of working out. My earbuds weren’t working yesterday at the gym and I felt like I was dying while I ran. Today I had my favorite hip-hop workout tunes playing and they really got me in a groove. I felt like I could run even longer but my legs are not used to long distances so I didn’t want to over-do it too early in my workouts.
One of my favorite discoveries from Pandora today was the song “Shake Senora” by Pitbull. Omg this song came on and it took all the control I could muster not to start dancing on the treadmill. I may be one of the whitest girls ever but I love songs that make you want to move to a good beat! Hip hop and Eminem songs are my favorite types of workout music.
Another song I have been obsessed with for a completely different reason is Jayme Dee’s new single Tip Toes. I’ve loved her since her YouTube cover days so it’s so exciting to see her releasing her own music. I hope she makes it big!
Definitely not workout music but it’s my favorite type of driving music. I love cute songs that make you smile!
I left the gym feeling so happy and confident today which was the best feeling. I think another contributing factor to this was that I fueled properly beforehand. Yesterday I ate lunch two hours before I worked out and I was feeling light headed and weak while I ran. Today I ate an English muffin with almond butter thirty minutes before my workout and I felt strong and in control the entire time.
Speaking of food, Josh and I went to the most amazing crepe place last weekend that I have to share with you guys. It’s called Joie De Crepe, is located in downtown State College, and is phenomenal.
Josh and I went there for dinner and did our usual order two separate things and split them both. Josh ordered the mozzarella, tomato, pesto, and mushroom crepe.
It was scrumptious.
I opted for the goat cheese, spinach, mushroom and spinach crepe.
The flavors blended together so deliciously. I could eat these things all day.
The savory crepes were incredibly filling but we were craving more sweet crepe goodness. We split a biscoff, almond, white chocolate, and caramel crepe for dessert.
It was without a doubt the best crepe I’ve ever had. Josh agrees with that statement whole-heartedly. Just looking at this picture makes my mouth water. The chef came out after we ate and we got to talking. He is so nice, and actually a vegan! He made everything on our plates that night from scratch. You could tell how passionate he is about what he does and how much love he has for food. And the owner was so nice and sweet, stopping to chat with us and answer questions about the food. Josh and I cannot wait to go back and order up some more crepe goodness. If you’re in the area definitely check out Joie De Crepe. It is a place you don’t want to miss!

Wow! That dessert crepe looks incredible! Wish I had a crepe place close…we used to but I don’t think there was enough business to keep it going. Sad!
Erin says
Oh no, I hope one opens up by you soon! Crepes are amazing!

Those crepes look delicious! Sinful even. 🙂
My best crepe memory is from walking through Paris, stopping at a street vendor to order crepes. I always preferred the savory one, while my husband loaded up on the sweet. Now that I’m vegan I haven’t enjoyed a crepe for a long time. Your post is making me determined to search for a vegan recipe..there must be one out there!
Erin says
Oh wow, having crepes in Paris must have been a dream! Joie de Crepe actually has vegan crepes, the chef is a vegan so he created a whole menu of egg and dairy free crepes just for vegans! If you’re ever in State College you should check it out!
