Is it really already Friday again? I’m so looking forward to this weekend. One of my good friends here is having a bridal shower and Josh and I have some errands we need to run in preparation for our honeymoon in a week and half! Ahh I can’t wait!
1. Josh and I had a really fun date night yesterday in Lincoln. We joined the Young Art Patrons when we moved here in hopes of meeting new people and getting to know the area better. Yesterday was a field trip to a gallery in Lincoln, Nebraska. Wine was free flowing, the artwork was beautiful, and the people were so nice. It was a wonderful time.
2. Speaking of Lincoln, we really want to plan more trips there. We’ve only been three times, but every time we go we find more cool stuff to do. It seems like such a cool city with lots of attractions for young adults.
3. Honest relationship advice from real life couples. I love this, and completely agree with what was said. “Donβt be afraid to be the one who loves the most.” True love doesn’t keep score. I thank God every day for the relationship I have with Josh.
4. I wanted to apologize if I have upset anyone with all the sponsored posts lately. Being sick for three weeks meant I had to push back all my reviews I had scheduled for during that time. It caused kind of a cluster of sponsored posts this week. I have one more going up Monday (the one I accidentally posted this past Monday), and then it should be just you and me and the thoughts in my head for a while. I just want you guys to know that when I do sponsored posts I’m sharing something I genuinely like and believe in. I always want to be upfront and honest with you guys so if you ever have any questions just let me know!
5. Speaking of blogging, I’ve started the process of getting a blog makeover. It’s been over two years since Girl Gone Veggie has changed looks, and I feel like I’m ready for a little refreshing. So much has changed since I’ve started blogging and I want my blog to reflect that. I’m still really early in the design process but I wanted to give you guys a heads up. I’m really excited. π
Question of the Day: What’s something on your mind this Friday?
Aqiyl Aniys says
Just thinking about life and continuously working to appreciate and make the best out of everyday. This hit home with the death of my friend’s mother yesterday, and funeral I need to attend of another friend’s mother this weekend, and the burial of another friend’s mother last weekend. All gone early in life. Make the most of everyday so you have no regrets when you leave this place.

I’m so sorry for your losses. You and your loved ones are in my thoughts.

I don’t understand why readers get all annoyed when Bloggers do sponsored post! I for one enjoy reading them. It usually introduces me to a new product that I wouldn’t have known about other wise. Nothing wrong with that Erin!
Erin says
I’m glad to hear you’ve been enjoying my posts. I really want Girl Gone Veggie to be a place people want to come and enjoy spending time.
Molly says
I agree with Meranda. If a blogger has a sponsored post in which I’m not interested I just click the little “x” in the corner and check back the next time they update. I don’t even blog but I follow a lot of blogs and don’t think there is anything wrong with them getting a little something in return for all the time and effort they put into creating content to entertain me for FREE. Also, glad you are feeling better and looking forward to seeing you tomorrow π

I’m so excited!!

I can’t wait to see what you come up with for the new blog look π Oh, and I totally want to explore Lincoln more, so we will have to make a roadtrip there sometime!
Erin says
Yes definitely! You would love Green Gateau. Omg I’m SO excited for the new blog look. I cant wait to see how it turns out.

How exciting! Lots to look forward to in your life! I look forward to seeing the new changes your blog brings. I really need to look into getting mine professionally done. Right now I am too stubborn (and broke) to pay for it.
On my mind? Why so many flights are delayed/cancelled? There must be something that can be done about this!!
Erin says
I hate delayed/cancelled flights! I hope it all gets resolved.
There’s some great low cost blog redesign options out there. My current one was done by a college student for $20. Since I was a college student at the time it worked out perfectly.

Where are you guys going for your honeymoon? Hopefully somewhere warm to get away from the weather here!
I still miss living in Lincoln.. π I never really felt there was a whole lot to do there, I honestly think Omaha has a lot more for people. But, you’ll have to check out the new Railyard that just opened up last fall if you haven’t already.
Can’t wait to see the new design!
Erin says
We’re going to Cancun! I can’t wait!!
We haven’t been to the Railyard yet but I’ll definitely add that to the must check out list. The only restaurant we’ve been to there is Green Gateau but I’m absolutely obsessed.

Wow that relationship advice was really interesting! So simple, yet very enlightening. As for sponsored posts, personally, I love reading them, so don’t feel bad π
Erin says
I know, I loved that article. I figure the best place to get advice is from people who have been in similar situations. π

I also try to limit my sponsored posts to one a week but sometimes the deadlines all overlap or life gets in the way!
I’m also working on a blog makeover for my two year anniversary in May. It’s time for a face lift!
Erin says
Ohh I can’t wait to see your blog makeover!
Kristen says
I’m so impressed and inspired by how many fun things you and Josh do! Need to make it a goal to really get out and explore Dallas so I can get an idea of all it has to offer!
xxo, Kristen
Erin says
Aw thanks! We’ve been really prioritizing getting out and exploring to make our new city feel like home. I’ve heard such great things about Dallas. I really want to visit Texas sometime.
