We’ve entered the season of multiple layers in Omaha. I typically need a coat and the heat on in my car on the way to work in the morning. In the afternoon I’m usually heading home sans coat and with the air on in my car. It’s crazy and unpredictable, but that’s the nature of living somewhere with four seasons. Omaha seems to be Pennsylvania weather, plus constant wind, hail when it rains, and tornado threats in late Spring/ early Summer. Southern California, I’m jealous. 😉 But in all serious, I don’t know what I’d do without the four seasons. It’s what I grew up with, and what I’m used to. And this time of year means always having extra layers on hand.
My favorite layer lately has been this Burberry Quilted Jacket. I picked it up for $65 used and have been wearing it daily since I got it in the mail. It’s a perfect fall and spring coat that adds warmth but not too much heat.
I love that it’s a little bigger so I can wear lots of stuff underneath. It also looks great paired with my $16 Target scarf. 😀 The pattern I’m wearing is sold out online but on sale for $13 if you can snag one at a local store.
I’ve been wanting a military-esque jacket for a long time. I found this one on a local Omaha Buy Sell Trade FB group. It was $10 for a lot of items. I only wanted this jacket so I bought the lot and donated the rest.
Good layering starts with a good base. Adea reached out to me a few weeks ago to offer me one of their layering shirts to try. They’re a company that’s committed to providing well-made basics that will last wear after wear. Their clothing materials are sourced from Italy and made in Italy and the US. They are so soft and comfy. I’ve been wearing my v-neck layering tee often.

I picked up these boots at T.J.Maxx two winters ago and have been so impressed by how they’re holding up for being made of synthetic materials. My next boot purchase is going to be all-leather. I’m eyeing up these bad boys. They’re on sale and I’ve heard fabulous things.
I’ve been wearing this scarf so much I know it’s probably time to wash it but I’m terrified it will get ruined. I definitely should have picked up two!
Confession time: I have had a horrible pimple on my chin for the past week. It’s finally going away but was still there when I took these photos this past weekend. If you look at my outfit shots you’ll notice it but for the close up shots I did everyone a favor and used the Retouch tool on iPhoto. That’s as Photo-shopped as things are going to get around here.
Questions of the Day: What boots are you rocking lately? Are you a scarf fan? Do you love to layer?
really cute!! i do love boots – scarves, not so much, but i do wear them once in awhile. i like the way they look, just not feel, but last year i did find a couple i loved! i’m totally checking out that burberry jacket!
I was so excited to find that jacket! I’m wearing it practically every day! 😀
What a find on BOTH jackets. love the scarf too — it’s going to actually be cold here this week in Austin, so I need to break out my coats and scarves!
I would love Austin weather right about now! It snowed here yesterday!!
Wow you are the ultimate deal finder! I’ve only been doing maternity shopping lately, so my options feel limited. I definitely am on board with the layering look though!

I was so excited to scoop up that military jacket for $10! The vneck is pricey but so soft and comfy.

Love the glasses! Super cute!
Thanks Nicole! They’re a different style for me but I’m loving them!
Cute layers. Since moving to Omaha I am finding shopping in stores challenging especially with only 2 shops downtown I really use for clothes.
Online shopping is my jam. I also love going to Von Maur in Central Omaha and Village Pointe out west!
NICE work finding the clothing deals. I have zero patience so always spend full price. My wallet doesn’t enjoy this. 😉
WOW! What deals! And that scarf!! I have been coveting it! It’s all over blogland! Maybe I will luck out and find one… Thanks for joining the Celebrate Southern Linkup this week! I am pinning this great post to our official board now! Cheers!
Love your layers and your scarf! I actually just bought the same one. I was standing in line at customer service and looked over to the scarves and spotted it; just had to have it!
Stopping by for thrift sisters! I’ve been trying to find creative ways to layer up for winter! It’s already been snowing here, so I figure I’ve got to have as many tricks up my sleeve as possible when it comes to winter fashion 🙂

We knew it was coming but I am still not ready for this cold weather – stay bundled up and have a warm week! #thriftingdivas
Ahhh, the cold weather. So don’t miss it as I am out here in SoCal. I would say though you did an awesome job with the use of the scarves. Very pretty scarves.

Hey girl, I love your look, and -oh em gee- I LOVE blanketscarves, aren’t they the best? I am in LA and so it’s not get too cold yet and so blanket scarves are so easy to just throw on and walk out the door. Also, did you know they are so crazy easy to make yourself? A fraction of the price that you would pay a retail, I have a DIY BlanketScarf tutorial on my blog, you should totally check it out sometime! They are make awesome gifts!!
