Life has been busy lately. I’m really not trying to sound like I’m working for the Omaha Tourism Bureau (does that even exist?) but we have been doing so much fun stuff since we moved to Omaha. Life has never been so full. I want to document it all on my blog so I can look back on our adventures as newlyweds in the future. We got to attend two concerts recently that were so much fun but so very different from each other. Hopefully you don’t mind my somewhat random post. ;p
The first show we saw was a Justin Timberlake concert! This was a birthday gift from Josh in September. I’ve loved Justin since his NSYNC days and couldn’t wait to see him perform live.
A very sick selfie. I deliberated a lot but decided in the end that I was not letting not feeling well get in the way of this concert.
I’m so glad I went. Justin rocked the sold out arena and shouted out to everyone via Twitter afterwards that it was one of the loudest crowds he’s had on tour. I didn’t add to that volume, but I loved dancing along to the music in my seat! ;p
His stage was insane. He’s a true performer through and through, and I loved that he played all his greatest hits. It was an awesome night.
Last night Josh and I went to opening night of Million Dollar Quartet. I blogged about this Tony award winning show coming to Omaha (disclosure: and received free tickets in exchange for doing so) and couldn’t wait to see it in person. I love Johnny Cash, like Elvis Presley, and was interested to learn more about Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.
This was my first time in The Orpheum Theater and I was blown away by the beauty. This was another sold out event, although this crowd was a little older than the Justin Timberlake concert. ;p
The show was amazing. The actors were so great at embodying the characters and the theater turned in to one big dance party by the end. This show really gave me an appreciation for an era of music I really didn’t know much about. It was a fun night and I’m already looking forward to coming back to see another play.
Question of the Day: What’s a show you’ve seen lately?
