Enjoying Fall Days

October 1, 2013 9 Comments

I love the fall season. The colors, the flavors, and the crispness in the air. We’ve been having some perfect weather lately and have been trying to make the most of it. Our days have been full in the best possible way.

Like at the Art Sar Ben festival in Aksarben this past weekend. We spent the morning checking out the local vendors and playing under the giant bubble machine. It reminded me a lot of Arts Fest in State College which made me really nostalgic.

We also celebrated National Coffee Day with pumpkin spice coffee from Jones Bros that we enjoyed while splitting a delicious scone.

We checked out a Williams-Sonoma class to teach us more recipes using our Vitamix. That machine can do so much it’s crazy. Josh made a fabulous soup after this class using the Vitamix. I’ll have to share the recipe with you guys soon. It’s for a pumpkin cashew soup that is really tasty.

We also discovered a little Panera-esque cafe in the Regency mall called Paradise Cafe. I love that their meals come with surprise cookies. Can that happen at the end of every meal? They get an A+ in my book.

Questions of the Day: What have you been up to lately? Do you feel like life speeds up in the fall?

So glad that you’re enjoying and exploring your new home. So fun to be together in a new place!

I think that all meals should come with a surprise cookie!

I wish I had been able to make the VItamix class at my local Williams Sonoma, but I still made a new recipe a few weeks ago.

Wow! You make me jealous as you seem to be checking out more in our city than I ever have! 🙂 You guys have really done a great job getting to know Omaha and check out some amazing festivals and sites!

I definitely need the soup recipe…I love this time of year and I love soup!

And Paradise Bakery is the BOMB! Looks like you had their fire roasted tomato soup which is fantastic and this season they have a great butternut squash – yum!
