It’s crazy how time flies. Two weekends ago I packed up my bags for a Colorado weekend getaway! To say I was excited is an understatement. I had never been to Colorado before and while I had heard incredible things, I really had no idea what to expect. I was looking forward to exploring a new place, trying new things, and working with some wonderful companies. Getting to mix my passion for blogging and my love for travel is seriously an amazing thing.
My long weekend away was jam-packed with wining, dining, snowboarding, and relaxation. (Recaps starting tomorrow!) While it was the perfect recipe for an epic weekend, it was little hard to pack for in just a carry-on. Luckily, I had it covered. If you have an upcoming trip that’s part-adventure and part-leisure and are unsure what to bring, here is my tried-and-true carry-on packing list.
Disclosure: while selecting the right items to bring for your trip is obviously most important, if you can’t fit them in your suitcase, you’re going to have a problem. It’s amazing what good folding will do for space saving and maximizing available room. I absolutely suck at packing so I turn to Josh to make my clothes all magically fit into my suitcase. He’s a keeper. ?
Since I did a little bit of everything on the trip I brought a little bit of everything! I needed athletic clothes, a few nice clothes for meals out, skin protection, and all my everyday toiletries and necessities. Here’s what I made sure to bring:
1. A ski jacket and ski pants. Because snowboarding would have been a miserable experience without these.
2. A dressy blouse. For throwing on over nice dark-wash jeans for dinner.
3. Flats. Good for exploring the town during the day and also wearing out to nice meals at night.
4. A warm hat. To keep my ears warm and my hair in check on the slopes.
5. Sunglasses. My reflection’s so bright I’ve got to wear shades! Just kidding. Snow makes light extra reflective so these were to keep me from going blind from all. the. glare.
6. Tampons. Because no one wants to have to worry about Mother Nature when you’re out having fun! I’ve used Tampax Pearl since I was a teen and am a huge fan. The pearl applicator makes insertion easy and the tampon itself is incredibly absorbent. I love the new Pocket Pearl because I can throw a few in my bag and ski pants without adding any bulk. I can then enjoy the day without worry.
7. Lipgloss. High altitudes can do a number on your skin, causing dryness, cracking, and other super attractive things. In addition to sunscreen and hand lotion, it’s important to remember to protect your lips as well!
And there you have it. With these items and a few more staples like pajamas and socks I was completely covered for my fun weekend away!
Questions of the Day: Have you been to Colorado before? Are you good at traveling with just a carry-on? What do you bring when going skiing/snowboarding? Are you a fan of Tampax Pearl? Does the new Tampax Pocket Pearl interest you?
