When Josh first started looking at job postings and saw there was a position hiring in Omaha we both kind of laughed. We thought it was the land of corn and steak and not much else. Obviously if you’ve been reading my blog since we moved here you know that could not be farther from the truth. Josh and I LOVE Omaha and the vibrant social scene. There is always something going on and such friendly people at all the events.
Ever since Josh got me tickets to see Justin Timberlake I knew I had to find a way to thank him. It was the biggest surprise and I am so looking forward to that concert. I figured since he got me tickets to a show I really want to see I should get him tickets to a show he really wants to see. Since he heard that Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is coming to Omaha he’s been talking about it nonstop. Truthfully, I didn’t know much about Big Bad Voodoo Daddy or what to expect in a performance from them, but Josh has been a fan since he was little. I got hooked pretty quickly when Josh started showing me videos of their performances like this one:
How fun is that? I have a feeling they can get a crowd moving to the beat pretty easily. Kim, the marketer behind the Omaha Performing Arts (who are the ones presenting Big Bad Voodoo Daddy) is also a blogger and is part of the Omaha Blogger Group I started a while back. We just had our second meeting at Whole Foods and it was so much fun. She mentioned that the Omaha Performing Arts was interested in getting the word out about the amazing lineup of shows they have for the rest of 2013 and 2014. Wicked is coming!
I grew up going to shows with my dad. I also played the violin and Irish Danced since I was very little. My dad took me to see Legally Blonde the Musical on Broadway when I got accepted to Bucknell. Josh went to a special arts school part time in high school where he got to focus on creative writing. Later in college he did improv work. Needless to say we’re both very big into the arts and are so excited to get to spread the word and awareness about some of the shows that are coming to Omaha. Itzhak Perlman is coming!!
So if you’re interested in getting out and seeing a show and think Big Bad Voodoo Daddy sounds like fun I highly encourage you to check and see if you’re free on Thursday, October 10th at 7:30pm. The concert is at the beautiful Holland Performing Arts Center on 1200 Douglas St.

If you’re going let me know! Josh and I consider ourselves pretty friendly people. We’d love to hang out!
Question of the Day: Are you a swing fan? Would you be interested in seeing Big Bad Voodoo Daddy perform?
Disclaimer: I received complimentary tickets to the show for helping promote it. All thoughts and opinions are always my own.
