The Best Adult Coloring Books

November 18, 2015 36 Comments

Have you guys gotten bitten by the coloring bug yet? Coloring books are not just for kids anymore. Aside from being a whole lot of fun coloring decreases stress and increases creativity.

The Best Adult Coloring Books

Coloring has been a hobby of mine for a while now and I’ve since gotten friends and family in on the fun. Josh and I love our coloring dates and have even used coloring as a way to talk out arguments. It keeps us calm and focused on something easy and soothing while we talk.

There are a lot of adult coloring books out there on the market right now, so I wanted to share some of my favorites. These are all high-quality, absolutely beautiful coloring books that I hope you’ll love.

I haven’t colored since I was a child and now I’m hearing about Adult coloring books and I’m so intrigued. I may just purchase one and sit down wth my boys while they are coloring and see if I still like it!

I’ve always loved to color…I just did it old school with crayons and Hello Kitty until recently. Now I’ve got some pencils and coloring pages from Plum Deluxe. It’s saving my sanity doing it on a regular basis these days – almost every night!

Ah brilliant! I remembered seeing a Harry Potter one before and I’d forgotten all about it – thank you for reminding me! It’s next on my list 🙂

I’ve tried coloring books but it doesn’t seem to relax me… I start coloring and all I can think about is how much stuff I have to get done and then my toddler tries to steal my pencils lol it’s just a hassle, but I really tried!

I haven’t tried these but I am giving one as a gift this year. I’m worried I would spend way too much time coloring if I had one of my own!

I want the Harry Potter, Outlander, Secret Garden, and a mermaid one I saw so bad! I have a fairy one currently and I use pencil crayons. I love colouring so much I want them ALL!

I did a post last Friday including them in my five Friday favourites for helping you de-stress. Colouring is so the way to go! Glad there are finally adult colouring books so I can graduate my little kid ones I used to use.

Your post just made me drool lol seeing all those beautiful books!

I have Tropical World. It’s art therapy for me. I’ve also tried Origami, but it was getting too hard for me and I was just making frogs, so I switched to coloring. 🙂

I have definitely caught the coloring bug! I usually color with coloring pencils since they’re pretty precise with their points and it makes it easier to color with. I had the Secret Garden one but gave it to my sister because she wanted it. 🙂 I would LOVEEE that HP one.

I saw these in Paris in the Tuileries Gardens and loved the idea. I want to give it a try. Are people using crayons or colored pencils? I think I would enjoy it more with colored pencils. Thanks for sharing!

Ohh, I like the Harry Potter coloring book! It cracks me up how popular this is now, it seems like every store I go in from Michaels to Walmart has a display of adult coloring books! Makes sense though, who doesn’t love coloring? 🙂 It kind of makes me angry though, I’ve noticed that they’re more expensive than kid’s coloring books, grrr.

HUGE FAN of coloring!! I don’t make much time for it lately and pretty much only use colored pencils, however, I do like fine tip inks. If I get more into it, I’ll probably make adjustments. 😉 My friend gave me a fun 1960’s book with some cool abstract pages. Super detailed though, so it’s going to take a long time for me unless I carve out more time in my days! Call me crazy but I think they’d look wonderful framed and how special to have personal “artwork” in the home or office!!
