Thank you guys so much for all the kind words on Josh and I’s two year anniversary post. It was such a special occasion and we had so much fun celebrating the entire weekend! The weekend was jam packed with a lot of exciting events, that I of course took tons of pictures of.
To start off the weekend Josh and I met with a group of friends to see Tim Gunn speak! I always get sucked into Project Runway episodes when they’re randomly playing on TV and think Tim is pretty fabulous so I was excited to hear what he had to say. The auditorium was packed!
He was just as nice in person as he is on TV. He talked about his journey to fashion (namely how he doesn’t consider himself a fashion person) and how he accidentally wound up on the hit TV show. He told us about what it is like at Parsons and the judge’s quirks on Project Runway. He has lived such a fascinating life and is such a smart and funny guy. I was surprised to find out he is an academic and just wrote a book on the history of fashion. I need to get my hands on one of those! During the Q&A session he talked about a lot of things, including the fact that when it comes to dressing our bodies we’re broken down into thirds and fashion is all about silhouette, proportion, and fit. That’s definitely something I’ll be keeping in mind the next time I’m out shopping.
The next day featured a very special store opening in State College. Trader Joe’sΒ has finally come to Central PA! Josh and I have been waiting for this weekend for months, we’ve been calling it a belated birthday present to him. Besides wanting to soak in all of their amazing products I was on a mission to track down their cookie butter and replenish my almond butter supply. Josh and I walked around the store like deer in headlights. There is so much awesome food! We left with a lot more than planned but our tummies are very happy!
One of the things I made after the Trader Joe’s shopping trip was their sweet potato gnocchi with butter and sage sauce. It was so quick and simple to make and was absolutely delicious. I need to get this again. I plan on doing a whole post this week dedicated to allΒ our Trader Joe’s finds.
Sunday was spent celebrating our two year anniversary. We started it off with a couples 5k and it felt so good to run outside. It was the first day that had nice weather in a while, it was in the 60s! After we got back I was so excited to give Josh his gifts, even if they were toned down so we can save for our wedding. I added a new penguin to our collection (Bauble!) and found a way to commemorate our dating anniversary before we get married and have a whole new anniversary to celebrate.
I found the state print on Etsy and had the seller customize it with all of our information. I am in love with how it turned out. The heart is right over State College, which is where we met! I was so happy that Josh loved it.
Josh was so sweet to me and surprised me with the most amazing gifts. I love that he’s so sentimental, these are my favorite kinds of gifts.
Not going to lie, when I opened this one it made me cry. I was just so blown away at how perfect it is for us and how nice it turned out. All the words are so true for us, and I love that it features the day we met.
This gift is really, really special to me. Josh framed all of our engagement pictures! I have always loved the pictures that spell words and this is a gift I will always cherish. I think it turned out stunning.
After exchanging gifts we went out to Rey Azteca for a delicious Mexican meal. I didn’t snap a picture of my food before half of it was inhaled but I got veggie fajitas and they were so good. It was a really special weekend, celebrated with the most special guy. I drove home on Monday on a cloud. π

Congratulations on your two year anniversary!
Where exactly is this Trader Joe’s in Central PA? Please email me at [email protected] as I do not always get to check back with responses.. very busy working between both jobs and doing client outcalls, no less! I’m not too far away if it’s in the vicinity of Lycoming County. π
Erin says
Thanks so much! I have my comments set up to email so you should be getting this comment in your email. Trader Joes is in State College, PA which is in Centre County. The county next to it is Lycoming (my county). From where I live it’s an hour and a half. Hope this helps!
