An App I’m Loving Lately

April 22, 2015 20 Comments

I’ve been really trying to make meditation a part of my daily routine. So many studies point to the health benefits and stress-relieving properties of meditation. It doesn’t take long, involve lots of equipment, or cost any money. As someone who does not handle stress very well, meditation has been so great for helping me refocus and move on from bad days. It also makes me feel more present for the awesome days! I’ve been using this free app called Breathe to guide me through my meditations and wanted to share it with you guys.

unnamed

Once you open the app you check in with how you’re feeling that day and pick words to describe your mood. The app then generates a list of meditations for you to pick from, ranging in time from 5-10 minutes, that relate to the emotions you are feeling that day. Apparently they sell some premium meditation sessions but I have never found myself feeling the free sessions were lacking in any way. There’s a bunch of them and they all leave me feeling relaxed, refreshed, centered and grounded. It’s pretty amazing what a clear mind and some deep breathing can do.

I’ll be the first one to say “I need to try meditating” and still have yet to give it a fair go. I’m sure the benefits are great! Meditating at the end of any yoga class is my very favorite part. Thanks for sharing!

You’re so welcome! Yes I always meant to do it but then never did. I love this app because it’s max 10 minutes. I can’t make an excuse for not being able to fit that in!

Thanks Erin!! I NEED this. I have been wanting to try meditating because I always feel like I am stressed and on the go-go-go. Next time I see you make sure you ask me if I have downloaded it yet… I’ll probably forget with all of the busyness of things 😉
