Hey guys! Time has been flying. This week has been packed with blog recaps of my trips to NYC and Connecticut. There’s one more to come that’s wedding related tomorrow! Today I want to share advice from a very special lady.
This is one of the few pictures I have with my mom. I was maybe a month or two old. My mom was an amazing woman. She was strong and loving and full of life. I would have loved to grow up having a relationship with her, turn to her for motherly advice, and have her with me on my wedding day. While I never got to have a conversation with her, I have my dad’s personality and something she always told him was this:
All my life I’ve been a worry wart. This has finally been changing for me and it is such a blessing to enjoy days without stress nagging at the back of my mind. It’s easy to let stress take over your life and for wonderful memories to be tainted by negative thoughts. When those moments happen I repeat this saying to myself. I’d like to think my mom appreciates me listening to her wise words. Life continues whether you’re stressing or not. No one knows how long we’ll be on this Earth, or what that time will contain for us. We can either fret over the things that come up or we can embrace the sunshine, smile and laugh when things touch our hearts, and hug our loved ones close. Stress sucks. Be happy. There’s so much to be thankful for! 🙂
Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water asked me to write this post sharing advice I learned from my mom. While I have not had a conversation with my mom I have had a lot of conversations with my dad. Advice I have learned from him is to always drink lots of water (and eat bananas). We have so much water in our house it’s kind of crazy. I always have a bottle in my purse and in my car. Water is my main liquid and I want to make sure I’m getting enough to fuel and hydrate my body.
If you’d like to receive more words of wisdom from other moms and get advice on how to stay hydrated check out Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water’s Facebook page. No matter how old we may be moms and dads always have a few things to teach us.
Question of the Day: What was advice your mom or dad told you that has stuck with you through the years?
