A Transitional Outfit

May 11, 2015 66 Comments

Lately I’ve been choosing my outfits based on how well they can transition from one activity to another during the day.

IMG_1617

I’ve been trying out morning workouts , which has led to me bringing my work clothes to the gym and heading straight to work from there. I then usually have an after-work social event in the evening. While it makes for a busy day, I’m excited to be fitting my workouts in.

IMG_1628

I’m not a morning person but morning workouts are really the only time I can fit them in my schedule without having to cut back on activities and events after work. It just means planning ahead and making sure I have an outfit that can take me from morning to night and look cute and be comfortable the entire time.

IMG_1623

I’m all about throwing a skirt on over a top or tee, adding some wedges and a necklace and calling it a day. I love how wedges can dress up any outfit. This pair is ridiculously comfortable. It’s almost like wearing sneakers they feel so good. Walking in heels does not come naturally to me so I’m glad I found a pair that works for my feet!

Outfit Details

Top: Banana Republic Factory
Skirt: LOFT Sold Out (Similar Option)
Wedges: CL by Laundry
Necklace: J.Crew Factory Sold Out (Similar Option 1. Similar Option 2.)
Watch: Kate Spade
Purse: Rebecca Minkoff

Funny story about this necklace: I bought it months ago from the outlets but am just now getting to wear it. When Josh and I were shopping he was carrying around our shopping bags while we browsed through some stores. When we got home that night I unpacked everything and thought J.Crew forgot to put my necklace in the bag. I was really bummed. I immediately called the store and they told me that Banana Republic had called them and said they found a J.Crew necklace in a jewelry pouch on the floor of their store. They put it in their safe for me to come pick up, but because of the distance to the outlets it was months before I was able to make it back. I’m so glad I finally got my necklace back. I’ve wanted a white necklace for a while. Josh has since promised to be a more diligent bag carrier. 😉

This whole outfit feels spring-y to me. Best of all, it’s so comfy and easy to wear. It took me from spin class, to work, to my Junior League initiation event yesterday. I’m now officially an active member!
