A Tequila Tasting With A Personal Touch

March 31, 2015 12 Comments

This past weekend Josh and I hosted a tequila party at our place!

It was in part to share the tequila we bought in Mexico with our friends. Although who really needs an excuse to eat guacamole, drink good tequila, and make margaritas with tequila from Costco? We also wanted to introduce our friends (and now you guys!) to a product Josh and I are in love with.

Meet Wine Glass Writer. These pens are awesome and perfect for people like me who prefer stemless wine glasses to those with stems. Wine charms aren’t the only way to mark your glass at a party! And even when you can use a wine charm, I cannot be the only person who has forgotten which charm is mine before! I don’t know about you, but I don’t drink enough to forget my name. 😉

The pens come in a variety of colors, go on easily, and come off quickly at the end of the night with a soap-y sponge. Josh and I skipped the sponge and just put them straight in the dishwasher. They came out squeaky clean!

I had a lot of fun writing everyone’s names on the glasses and color-coordinating the couples. 😀

I thought they looked so great! We wrote the names high because cold condensation can make the pen bleed. Alcohol at room temperature works best with these, although we served margaritas with ice and chilled guava liquor with no problem. The trick is to write the name above drink line. As long as the liquor isn’t sitting flush against where you marked the glass, you should be good to go.

We were tasting three different tequilas we picked up in Mexico, as well as margaritas, and a guava drink. We wanted to make sure that we had plenty of food to go with all those drinks! I can’t have a party without guacamole, so that was a definite. I also found this quick and easy recipe for mini bean dip cups that turned out delicious. They were a huge hit.

All the fun little Mexican-themed decorations I picked up at Target. How cute are the little cactus salt and pepper shakers? 😀

What we thought would be a fun little Sunday afternoon party turned into an awesome Sunday afternoon and evening party. Drinks were refilled, food was demolished, and our group migrated from our apartment to our roof. We ended the night with pictures as the sun set and a tequila take on a white Russian for dessert. It was an awesome end to the week.

Wine Glass Writer helped make the party so fun. Our friends loved the personalized touch on their glass. No one lost their drink and no booze was wasted, which I think is well worth the $9.99 price tag!  Along with wineglasses, the Wine Glass Writer is also great for ceramic bowls, dishes, signs and shotglasses.

Wine Glass Writer was so sweet to not just send me some, but to offer up some to a lucky reader as well! To enter:

Looks like fun! I have those same wine writing pens, but haven’t had a chance to use them yet.

Definitely a white fan – but sparkling is my favorite. Always order prosecco if it’s on the menu!

OK, this sounds awesome! I love having tasting parties and I love tequila..so I think I’m going to have to have one of these. Maybe I’ll schedule a trip down to Mexico just as an excuse to try lots of tequila! Sounds like a lot of fun 🙂 I have heard of wine glass writers (I think they came in a Popsugar Must Have box one month) but I’ve never tried them! Might have to pick them up for my next party 🙂

Never been to a tequila party… love it tho. Enjoy both red and whites but mostly reds. Yes Wine Writer would be a handy addition to my next party. My son-in-law graduates from Law School in May and we’re having a party then!!
