I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! This one has been a GREAT one for me! Its been so jammed packed with delicious food, fun times, and good people.
Saturday Josh had to work all day so I decided to have a girls afternoon with Lily. She was feeling a little under the weather so I picked up some Indian food for us for lunch and then took it back to her place. Kaarma is my favorite Indian restaurant in State College, its delicious!
Saag paneer is hands down my favorite Indian dish. Cheese and spinach is such a great combo! We also ordered coconut naan and peas and carrot naan. Both were delicious but the coconut naan is the best. It tastes like dessert!

After lunch and some studying we decided to watch The Descendants. George Clooney + Hawaii= a recipe for a great movie. I love Hawaii and after spending three summers vacationing/ interning there I feel very attached to it. It was great to get to see some of my favorite sights again and the movie plot was so great. It was so much fun to have some girl time and watch such a good movie.
For dinner that night Josh and I tried these new Kashi frozen meals. We both had a spinach and artichoke pasta and it was so good. Its great finding some frozen meal options that are not only tasty, but healthy too!
After some more studying (this is going to be a busy week for me) Josh and I headed over to Paige’s to celebrate her 25th birthday. It was so much fun. After spending a few hours there we decided to get a late night snack and stopped for pizza a few blocks away from Josh’s house. It was delicious.
The next morning Josh and I went to the Waffle Shop with an extra special visitor, my Auntie Kathi! My Auntie Kathi lives in Hawaii and is who I stayed with during the summers while I was there. We are incredibly close and its hard for me not getting to see her as much as I used to. When I heard she was visiting the East Coast and wanted to stop by I was so excited to see her, and for her to meet Josh! The Waffle Shop is incredibly popular, that’s the line for people waiting to get inside!
We knew we had to take her to The Waffle Shop, its the place to have breakfast in State College! I got my usual short stack of Georgia pecan pancakes and two scrambled eggs. Their food is out of this world good! We were really happy that she loved everything!
My Aunt and I visited a lot of art museums in Hawaii over the summer so when deciding what to do for the day I thought visiting the art museum in State College would be great. Josh and I have never been to the Palmer Museum of Art and were really excited to explore it with my Auntie Kathi.
We were blown away with how big it was. We had no idea there was such a high quality museum right in the heart of State College that we had never visited before. They have all kinds of art pieces, my favorite being the blown glass. How beautiful is this? I’d love to have it be a display piece in my dream master bathroom. 😀
Josh and I posing with the paw afterwards. 😀
Me and my Auntie Kathi!
After walking around campus and showing her downtown we decided to stop at Starbucks for some drinks. I’m on a mission to get Gold status there.
It was SO incredibly great getting to catch up and spend the entire day with her. I missed her so much. And I have to laugh because I just realized in this picture Starbucks spelled her name wrong. Happens to me all the time. ;p
After walking around some more we decided to head over to The Deli for dinner. They make my favorite veggie burgers of all time, and just have great food in general.
I got the veggie burger with swiss cheese, aioli sauce, and caramelized onions with sweet potato fries. I didn’t eat one half of the bun but otherwise finished the entire thing! 😀
We were there for hours sharing drinks and laughs and just having the best time. For dessert we all split their killer cookie. It was fresh baked cookie topped with vanilla ice cream, bananas, hot fudge sauce, whipped cream, and cherries. We demolished this plate. It was so good!
And before we knew it it was time to say goodbye. The day flew we were having so much fun. I miss my Auntie Kathi already but know that we’ll see each other soon! Its just hard having half the world in between us.
Sunday was filled with lots of studying and hanging out. For dinner Josh, Lily and I decided to head over to Mad Mex for their Monday $5 all you can eat burrito special. Their tofu burritos are amazing!
I was so hungry I ate two!
We were having so much fun hanging out we decided to head to Kiwi for frozen yogurt afterwards. I love frozen yogurt and was so excited when Kiwi opened last year in State College. It was our first time going this year.
My yogurt bowl. 😀
I always break my yogurt up into two sides. On one I had the mixed berry with strawberry, lychee, and blueberries and then on the other side I had vanilla with caramel chocolate cups and chocolate chip cookie dough. They’re such good combos!
And now Josh and I are home and we’re planning on catching up on our shows that we missed last night including Once Upon A Time and Worst Cooks. I hope you all have a great night!
Question of the Day: What are your favorite froyo flavors and toppings?
