Lord knows I’ve had more than my fair share of bowl cuts and uneven bangs as a child. Fortunately for me as I got older I learned what works for my hair and what doesn’t and have avoided my dad wielding a salad bowl and a pair of kitchen shears like the plague. Unfortunately for Andy his hair has a mind of its own.
This poor little guy went to the beauty salon this past weekend for his haircut and was so knotted they had to cut off almost all of his hair. Despite routine brushings in between cuts his hair still knots so easily. He currently looks like a cross between a naked mole rate and a chihuahua and the poor thing is freezing. He’s been in a sweater and under blankets since he got back from the puppy parlor. More than the warmth I think he misses his pride. That boy knows how cute he looks with hair and I think he misses the constant oohing and ahhing over how adorable he looks. He’s a vain one. ;p
Today has flown by. Between a science test, a group meeting, and lots of homework its been a busy, productive day! My goal is to get all my work done by Thursday so I can leave for New Haven, CT with Josh on Friday without anything on my to-do list but to enjoy spending time with him and his family. So far I seem to be well on my way to meeting that goal!
I was so busy in between classes I actually didn’t get a chance to grab lunch today. By the time I was ready to head home for the day I was starving and decided to treat myself to some Mexican for dinner. I ordered takeout from Fiesta Cancun, a cute little Mexican restaurant downtown. They’re great with letting you customize a menu and I was so excited for my veggie quesadilla with guacamole and refried beans.
I was shocked out how much food I was given for $6, wholly quesadilla!
This thing was chock full of spinach, peppers, onions, tomatoes, beans, cheese, and quacamole. I had originally planned on eating half and saving the rest for tomorrow but I was so hungry once I started eating I couldn’t stop. This was one incredible quesadilla!
Now I’m working on a paper for my psychology class that’s due tomorrow while waiting for a Jello chocolate pudding to harden in the fridge so I can eat it while watching American Idol. I have to define my instrumental and terminal values and describe the importance of them in my life. I thought it was a pretty cool paper topic so I decided it with you guys.
Instrumental values are characteristics or means to achieving your ends
Terminal values are goals or the most important things to attain in your life
Examples of each can be found here.
My top five instrumental values are: ambition, love, intelligence, independence, and responsibility.
My top five terminal values are: happiness, true love, a comfortable life, self respect, and true friendship.
I want to be the best I can possibly be in both my personal and professional life. If I have a loving family, good friends, a fulfilling job, and am in good health then I feel I have achieved a happy life.
Oh and American Idol is starting! Time to run. I thought I’d leave you all with a video by one of my favorite Youtube singers, Jayme Dee. I wish she would audition for American Idol, she’d win the whole competition.
Question of the Day: What are your top instrumental and terminal values? Why are they so important to you?

I laughed out loud while reading about poor Andy. That picture completely helps to illustrate how shamed he looks.

Its so sad! Thankfully it will grow back soon, I just feel bad he has to be naked during winter months!
