A Penguin Halloween

October 28, 2012 48 Comments

This weekend was so much fun! Josh and I got dressed up with friends to celebrate Halloween. We weren’t sure what we were going to be for Halloween until a few weeks ago when browsing a Halloween shop. It was hard to top last year’s Mickey and Minnie Halloween costumes.

This year we decided to be penguins! How adorable are these hats? After meeting up with everyone we headed over to the Dark Horse Tavern for some drinks and to listen to a cover band.

Our full costume. I wore black tights and black flats while Josh wore black pants and black shoes. I think our costumes were simple but very effective!

Nicole and Mike went as I Dream of Jeannie and the Pilot. I thought this was such an awesome couple’s costume!

Lily and Pierce went as Leela and Fry from Futurama. I haven’t ever seen the show but I thought it was really cute!

Me and Alissa. She went as a schoolgirl, I loved her costume.

We all had a lot of fun and the cover band was really good. It was a good time being penguins! 😀

This weekend also included some good eats. Oats with Nutella and peanut butter is an amazing combo!

Josh and I made grilled cheese and hummus sandwiches with a side of grilled veggies! It was delicious!

I also picked up salad from Fiddlehead. I love their spinach, feta, walnut, and pear salad. All the ingredients taste great together!

Time to start my week! I hope everyone stays safe during the hurricane! I’m not sure what is happening in my area, I’ve heard so many varying reports, but school is closed for two days so I’ll take it!

Question of the Day: Did you celebrate Halloween this past weekend? What did you go as?

AW love the costumes. Me and my guy didn’t dress up this year. Maybe we’ll put on a costume for the kids in the neighborhood on Wednesday while we give out candy. Not sure yet. Trying to get thru Sandy at this point.

Office was closed today, so I’m working from the comfort of my couch 🙂

I’m so jealous your office is closed! My school was closed but work is still open and it involves being out on the roads a lot and that makes me really nervous! I hope Sandy leaves by Halloween so kids can enjoy Halloween!

Aww I’m sorry you missed your party! I felt the same way missing our Halloween party last weekend after the race because I was so tired! I’m so glad Josh and I got to go to one this weekend! I hope you still get to dress up Wednesday!
