Yesterday after work I was invited to my very first grilled cheese party!!
Have you heard about the grilled cheese and tomato soup restaurants popping up all over the country? Tom + Chee first gained national attention after an appearance on Shark Tank. You better believe I was watching that episode when it aired. I’m a huge Shark Tank fan.
After their Shark Tank success, Tom + Chee began opening franchises all over the country. I was SO excited when I found out one of those franchises was coming to Omaha. They’ve been open a few months now and have been incredibly popular in the Omaha community. Everyone I know who has tried Tom + Chee loves it. Josh and I had our first Tom + Chee experience back in March and were instantly huge fans. When they reached out to see about hosting a blogger event, I immediately said yes. There were so many things I wanted to learn about the company and so many foods I wanted to try!
If you’re still wondering exactly what Tom + Chee is, it’s a completely customizable grilled cheese and tomato soup fast-casual restaurant that also serves salads, mac + cheese, and grilled cheese donuts. They make everything fresh to order, and it’s all freaking delicious. No seriously, I don’t know how they do it, but everything tastes good here.
We dined family style and started off with their salads. They were yummy! But let’s be real, I wanted the carbs.
Up next were the courses and courses of the star of the show: the grilled cheese. What I love about the grilled cheeses at Tom + Chee (aside from how delicious they are) is how there is truly something for everyone. They have gluten free bread, wheat bread, white bread, veggie options, vegan cheese, meat lovers options, and toppings for every appetite. We were served a mix of veggie and meat grilled cheeses at this event, so I stuck to taking photos of the ones I ate. While I didn’t eat the red meat ones, I heard they were really good.

My favorite. 😀 The mac + cheese grilled cheese. It’s basically heaven on a sandwich.
Soup bowls filled with their classic creamy tomato soup. It has a new sweet potato base and is really creamy! Tom + Chee has their staple tomato soups that are always on the menu and then they also mix it up daily with soup specials. These are the real stars of the soup menu. Everyone was raving about the taco soup!
I think my favorite thing on the entire menu is their mac + cheese. It’s made to order and is lick the bowl good. I brought some home for Josh and am so tempted to go pull it out of the fridge while I finish writing this review. It’s that good.

No Tom + Chee meal would be complete without their famous grilled cheese donuts! While I wasn’t sure I’d be able to make room in my stomach, when I saw the deliciousness before my eyes I knew I was up for the challenge (And we split these donuts four ways before you think I’m a total glutton 😉 ). The blueberry compote and s’mores donuts were out of this world (The other donut was chocolate bacon bliss. If you’re a bacon fan, I’m pretty sure you’ll love that).
If I had to pick a favorite donut, and this is incredibly hard to do, it would probably be the strawberry lemonade. It’s made with fresh strawberries, candied lemon, lemon mascarpone, and mozzarella. The lemon took it to another level and I found myself wishing I had another donut to enjoy (and another stomach to enjoy it with!).
Tom + Chee is so awesome because they offer great food at a good price in a fun environment. If you want something light for lunch, they’ve got that. If you want a more indulgent meal, they’ve definitely got that. (Hello, donuts and yummy mac + cheese!) There’s truly something for everyone and every mood, which I really appreciate because I’m always craving something different.

I checked out their menu and the Flying Pig would suit my taste buds the best. If I was to create my own I would start with Pumpernickel Rye, Smoked Gouda, Roasted Turkey, Fried Onions and Spicy Cherry Peppers. The Choco Bacon Bliss would be a great meal finisher!

I LOVE Tom & Chee! I had a grilled cheese (dairy free cheese) and tomato soup when I went and it was absolutely delicious. I still need to make my way back there and try out more, there are so many delicious options!

I’ve been to my local Omaha Tom+Chee and really enjoyed it! While there we got too full so didn’t do dessert, but I’d LOVE to try one of their dessert donuts next time!
