It’s almost the weekend! I am SO excited. After work on Friday I’m heading to Josh’s for a weekend of sunshine and relaxing. This week has been a busy one at work and I’m looking forward to lounging and vegging out. I got to do a bit of that today on my day off and it felt great!
I slept in until almost nine and made myself a green smoothie for breakfast. I forgot to snap a picture when it was full, this was when I finished my first cup and was coming back for what was left in the VitaMix. Its crazy how we’ve only had the VitaMix for a few months but I can’t imagine not having it. I use it every single day because it makes the best smoothies in a matter of seconds.
I spent my morning writing guest blog posts for some FitFluential’s blogs and just lounging around reading blogs and browsing the Internet. I’ve been wanting to guest post for a while and am so excited to have the opportunity. It feels a little strange writing something that isn’t going to be posted on here though. For lunch I made oats with almond butter and bananas. I love how it tastes like warm and gooey banana bread, it was such a great lunch.
After lunch my dad and I had a father-daughter outing to the movies. We went to see Disney/Pixar’s Brave in 3D and it was so good! I love that the main character was a strong, independent girl with the most amazing hair of any Disney princess. She beats out Ariel for me for most beautiful hair and that’s saying something. Redheads unite! 😀 My dad loved the movie just as much as I did, the music and scenery were so good and in 3D the movie really felt like it came alive.
After the movie we headed over to Starbucks for some coffee drinks. It was hot outside so we both decided to cool off with cold drinks. I tried the new cookie crumble frapp and it was really good. It tasted like a chocolate coffee cookie! 😀
For dinner I made a breakfast burrito and hung out with my parents at home for a bit. I have no idea why I call it a breakfast burrito when I have it for dinner but the name has always stuck with me, so that’s what I call it. haha It was a nice, quiet night that I really enjoyed.
We all lounged and relaxed and enjoyed each others company. I especially loved getting to cuddle up with my puppies, they’re the best little cuddle bugs. <3
And now I’m off to get ready for bed . My alarm is set for 6:30 AM and I want to make sure I get a good nights sleep so I don’t wake up feeling super tired. I’ll see you all on Monday with weekend updates!
Question of the Day: What are you looking forward to this weekend?
I want to see Brave just because it has a strong, redhead female lead – just like my daugther! I love hearing of daughter/ father outings! Hope you both had fun. http://funandfit.org/2012/06/lose-2-pounds-in-2-days/
We both had a blast! I think father-daughter outings, or parent outings of any kind are so important. Brave was amazing, I hope you and your daughter enjoy it! From one red head to another I think she’ll really like it! 😀
Sounds like a lovely day off!
It was a wonderful one, thank you so much!
so jealous you got to see Brave with your Daddy! 🙂
It was so much fun! I love getting to spend time with him and it was such a great movie!
Have a lovely weekend!
Thanks so much! You too!!
Sounds like an excellent day. With our move right around the corner I’ll be cleaning and packing. Doesn’t sound exciting but it is. Have a great weekend! =)
As someone who is obsessed with HGTV I think that is super exciting! I hope packing and cleaning go well and your move goes great!
Sounds nice and relaxing! Funny about ‘breakfast burrito’, but that is kinda what it’s always called lol. Breakfast for dinner is always alright by me 🙂
Your dog is too cute.
Aw thank you! I love my Bailey girl. And I am a huge fan of breakfast anytime of the day! haha
I am looking forward to staying IN out of the 100+ degree heat and getting some housework done!
Yes! This weekend is going to be an air conditioned weekend for sure!
I LOVED Brave! I’m a total sap, of course, and loved the storyline…but the red heads? LOVE ’em! I have two little ones sitting right next to me right now. 😀
Aww, red heads rock!! I thought the storyline was so touching, if I have a little girl someday I want to take her to see that movie. I think it is such a great perspective on the complexities of mother-daughter relationships.
Brave sound like such a great movie, especially for girls. I don’t have any kids to take, and I’m not quite sure I can talk the hubby into it.
It is an amazing movie not only for girls but for mothers and daughters to see together. I think it has such a great storyline. You never know, your hubby might surprise you! I know my boyfriend wants to see it with me I talked it up so much to him! ;p
Hope you had a great weekend! Mine was filled with 5 papers due in a matter of just a couple days, and a whole book to read in 1. 🙂 Stressful much? Haha but I’m getting it done!
I’m so glad you’re getting it done, that’s what counts! And my weekend was pretty awesome, I got engaged!!
