Weekend Snapshots 8.4

August 3, 2014 17 Comments

Happy Monday! I hope your week is off to a great start and that you had a fun weekend. It was beautiful here in Omaha.

I started off my Saturday with a workout session with Jess. The weather was perfect so she took our workout outside. I love how each workout with her is different. I always leave exhausted but feeling so strong. She introduced me to muscle ropes this week. They are killer! (Kudos to her for this awesome picture!)

I look forward to working out and catching up with her every Saturday. Unfortunately I won’t have too many Saturdays left with her because of an awesome job that is taking her family to Illinois.  I’m going to miss her so much but am so excited for her. And I’m looking forward to getting together when she comes back to Omaha to visit family.

After my morning workout with Jess, I headed straight over to a yoga class. I’ve always considered myself more of a pilates person than a yoga person but I saw a flyer at my gym for a special yoga class to benefit childhood cancer charities. The class was actually held at a house in the middle of the woods. It was so beautiful and the class was so relaxing. I never really enjoy yoga but I loved this vinyasa flow class. It definitely made me want to start taking some more classes. Thankfully the instructor teaches as my gym, so I can check out her vinyasa, pilates, and barre classes!

I was also super excited to win a Lulu mat, strap, and towel. I already have a Lulu mat but have really needed a strap and towel for it. I’m planning on returning the mat and having the gift card be a reward as I start to reach my weight loss goals.

After the class there was some yummy healthy treats from Whole Foods. This ended up being the last healthy things I ate that day.

Erin and I (Erin^2!) had tickets to Omaha Crush. It was a four hour wine and food festival in Aksarben. It was so much fun it warrants its own post. Make sure to come back and check that out tomorrow. 🙂

Joanna was so sweet to pick my drunk self up afterwards to go to a Storm Chasers game with Jordan and Hannah. I had so much fun hanging out with them. The weather was perfect and Omaha won!

I also got to snack on some sweet guacamole and get front row entertainment from this drumming group. It was a good night.

Sunday started off with a Zumba class. Dancing and sweating after a day of drinking was not fun but I was very proud of myself for doing it.

Afterwards I went to Whole Foods to grocery shop and ate all.the.salad. It’s amazing what kale and some chicken salad can do for a hangover. The rest of the day was spent cleaning and getting ready for the week. I also had a fun photo session with Kitty to get some new head shots for my blog. Expect to see those updated sometime this week!

I love catching up with friends! I wish I could do that with some highschool friends but we’re scattered all over the country. I miss them so much.

Your Omaha pictures always may be remember how much I love that city. It’s been so long since I’ve been there! It sounds like you had a fun, active weekend. Mine was pretty good too. Time with family and in cooler weather.

I was really nervous at first but they ended up not being too bad. I just wish I had more arm strength so I could really whip them!
