Mark your calendars, Shark Week is back early this year! Tune into Discovery Channel this Sunday, at 8/7 CT for a week full of educational shark programming. To celebrate, I’ve partnered with Baker’s to share a fun shark cookie perfect for your Shark Week festivities! While they may look fierce, they’re perfectly sweet. 😉
My friend Jordan and I made these cookies together. I had never made cookies like this before so I was super excited to try my hand at this style of cookie. It’s essentially a sugar cookie with lemon royal icing frosting.
Baker’s is the closest full-size grocery store by my house, which makes it perfect for running to get supplies. It’s convenient, affordable, and always super clean with a great selection. I’m a huge proponent of store brands, so I’m all about their Simple Truth and Private Selection brands. Same ingredients, less money!

To make these, I used the best sugar cookie recipe out there. For simple and easy-to-understand directions on how to make these cookies check out Alison Faulkner’s cookie recipe. It is totally worth it. (BTW, this is not an affiliate link, just the recipe that all my friends swear by.) If they turned out this good when someone totally new to this type of cookie decorating did it, you know it’s good!
Picture perfect Shark Week cookies that are as fun to eat as they are to make!
Questions of the Day: Do you watch Shark Week? Have you ever made cookies like this before? What’s your favorite cookie flavor?
Thanks to Baker’s for sponsoring this post!
In the immortal words of Tracy Jordan: “Live every week like it’s Shark Week.”
Those cookies are so cute! I like the shark bites. Do you have any left for me?
I thought the surfboards turned out so cute! I love the vibrancy of the color! Unfortunately my work ate them all! They were gone in half a day!
I love making sugar cookies and these look delicious! Would you like to deliver some to my work?
My work actually devoured them! Two dozen cookies in like two hours! 😉
These are SO stinkin’ cute! I’m pretty darn excited about Shark Week, and it is good to know that it is earlier this year!
I hear you on the store brands thing. Why pay more when you can get a product that is JUST as good (or sometimes even better)?
Yes! Especially when you know the private labels are buying their products from the big brands!
The kids would love these fun shark cookies. Look delicious.
I can’t believe how cute they turned out! Definitely friendly sharks. 😀
Oh my gosh, these are too cute!
I love how they turned out! 😀
These are so much fun! My son loves learning about sharks.
I’m excited to tune in this year!

I wish I were better at making adorable sugar cookies! The surf boards are great! Gload you didn’t make the surfer that’s also part of the cookie cutter set. 😉

Shark week is one of my favorite weeks to binge watch TV. I will be sure to make these cookies as a festive treat. Thank you for sharing the recipe!

And they’re just as yummy as they look!
These were so fun to make together! I love that baking and decorating sugar cookies can be such a fun girls night activity! I love that we were able to find everything that we needed just down the street at Bakers. It was so convenient when we realized we forgot a couple ingredients and had to have Josh run back to get them for us! 😉
Thank you SO much for all your help girl! You brought these cookies to life!
These are adorable! I want to join in on the fun!
You totally should!!
They are so cute! I don’t know if mine would turn out so well but I want to try!
