I love living in Omaha. There’s always something fun going on.
This past Saturday Josh and I walked down the block to The Rose Theater to see a new play.
Ramona Quimby has come to Omaha! I grew up reading Ramona Quimby and am so excited to see a new generation introduced to the story of the spunky little girl trying to cope with the challenges of growing up.
The set was super cute. And the place was packed.
To be totally real, Josh and I were probably the only people there who didn’t have kids. Everyone who knows us knows we’re kids at heart though, so I didn’t care. The story was so touching and the actors were incredibly talented. I actually think more adults who read these books when they were little should go see it. The story deals with a family struggling with modern day issues and shows how a child interprets and handles all of that. It brought me back to my own childhood and made me think of how I handled similar situations. It also showed the power of imagination. Josh and I both remarked as we left that the story really made us think. It was a fun way to spend a Saturday evening.
The show runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday til May 11th. For more information and to purchase tickets check out The Rose Theater’s website.
Questions of the Day: Did you read Ramona Quimby growing up? What childhood book would you like to see brought to the stage?
