Meal Planning with Kashi

Meal Planning with Kashi
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kashi. Tracking Pixel As I mentioned on here before one of my New Years Resolutions is to make nutrition and fitness a priority. Meal planning has definitely been my friend, as is getting into a meal routine. I basically eat the same thing for breakfast, snacks, and lunch during the week, and try and eat around the same time every day. For breakfast I add 3/4 cup of Kashi Heart to Heart to 3/4 Greek yogurt. I then top with a teaspoon of raw honey and 12 almonds. It is so delicious and I literally look forward to eating it in the morning. Is that weird? Haha Oh well. For my first snack of the day I'll either do a small salad, 15 Kashi snack crackers with an ounce of cheese, or a half cup of cottage cheese with some blackberries. Lunch is a whole-grain tortilla with two tablespoons of hummus, 3 ounces of turkey, and lots of brussels sprouts. My second snack before coming home for the day has been pieces of dark chocolate. While chocolate is super tasty, it's not really giving me the extra fortification I need for my after-work workout classes. (Which I am loving!) I've been looking for a snack with a little extra oomph. And thanks to Kashi, I think I've found it. Introducing Kashi Crunchy Granola & Seed Bars. Just launched this month, the two flavors are Chocolate Chip Chia and Honey Oat Flax. I'm all about chia seeds, quinoa, and flax, so it's exciting for me to see these in a bar. They'll be available wherever you can buy Kashi. I get mine on my weekly trip to Whole Foods. The boxes got a little banged up in transit, but the individual packages were perfectly fine. They're perfect for throwing in my lunch bag when I'm on my way out the door. Calorie wise these are a perfect swap for chocolate for me. My chocolate serving is 180 calories and these are 180 calories in two bars. They're also absolutely delicious! Good food should taste good. I know little choices like this will lead up to big changes for me in 2014. :D Questions of the Day: Are you a Kashi fan? Do these granola bars sound like something you want to try?
